Despite 30,000 registrations, only a handful of players with different experiences will be shortlisted for the Football Manager 27 Playtest.

Sports Interactive has finally shared some insight into the FM27 Playtest release window after reaching a massive milestone. The developers recently shared a registration link for the playtest on social media. According to an official post on the Sports Interactive forum, the Football Manager 27 Alpha Playtesting Program surpassed 30,000 registrations. Given the huge response from fans and players, the developers revealed the expected FM27 Playtest dates.

The developers covered some important pointers and questions raised by the community in the forum post on August 18. The expected start date for the Alpha Test is early to mid-September. Addressing the official FM27 Playtest date, this is what Chris Groves from the FM Community Team had to say:

In terms of a starting date for the playtest, we expect this to kick off in September. We’re obviously keen to begin the playtest with enough time to gather thoughts from playtesters and help further refine FM27. It’s also important, though, to ensure the development build provided is in the right state (with expected snags/issues for a pre-launch version) for testers to truly get stuck in and provide valuable feedback.

Players who joined the Football Manager Alpha Playtest will receive an email if they are added to the playtest. It now remains to be seen what the FM27 Playtest release date will be in September.

Who Gets Selected for the Football Manager 27 Playtest?

Sports Interactive developers also addressed the buzz around how the screening process will be conducted once the FM27 Playtest date is finalized. According to the official post, players won't be rejected based on their survey answers.

“There isn’t a selection of answers that makes you more or less likely to be invited in, because we need that variance in viewpoints to get a balanced and unbiased slate of feedback,” they wrote.

According to them, the primary goal of this playtest is to ‘gather feedback’. Hence, the developers will prefer having testers with a wide range of different experiences and preferences for FM.

How Many Testers Will Be Invited for the FM27 Playtest?

Just like the Football Manager 27 Playtest date, the developers claimed the exact number of playtesters to be invited remains TBC. It will likely be a small portion of the pool who signed up for the FM27 Playtest. The developers will focus on receiving ample feedback while maintaining optimal volumes.
