Alexander Isak | FWD | £10.5m
Alexander Isak's incredible 2024–25 season, in which he led the forward charts with 211 points and recorded 23 goals and six assists, is reflected in his £2 million price hike. Being Newcastle's primary goal scorer and attacking focal point makes him a premium pick.
Although his first two games are difficult contests against Aston Villa and Liverpool, he has the opportunity to be captain in the games against Leeds and Wolves. He is still a trustworthy talisman if he stays at Newcastle despite transfer rumours. Managers must, however, compare their cost to that of other top forwards and keep an eye out for any last-minute movements that can affect their playing time.
Rayan Ait-Nouri | DEF | £6.0m
Rayan Ait-Nouri's transfer to Manchester City increases his chances of winning the Premier League substantially. With four goals, seven assists, and 125 points after a stellar season at Wolves, he is valued at £6.0 million. Pep Guardiola's style benefits from his offensive flair and adaptability, but rotation risk is a serious concern.
He might compete with elite defenders for value if he can secure the left-back position. Ait-Nouri is an alluring differential due to his defensive prowess and bonus point appeal. Before committing, preseason minutes and tactical deployment will be important metrics.
Jordan Pickford | GK | £5.5m
With 158 points and 12 clean sheets, Jordan Pickford maintains his position as the FPL's top-scoring goalkeeper for a second consecutive season. Everton's defensive consistency under David Moyes, who helped the Toffees give up the fewest significant opportunities in the league since his arrival, justifies his price increase.
Pickford is a solid set-and-forget choice because of his advantageous early schedule, which includes Leeds, Brighton, Wolves, and Aston Villa. Although £5.5 million is a lot of money for a goalie, managers looking for stability between the posts may find him appealing due to his consistency and possibility for extra points.
Florian Wirtz | MID| £8.5m
Liverpool's big-name acquisition comes with a solid reputation and a reasonable FPL price tag. Wirtz showed exceptional inventiveness and poise last season in the Bundesliga, with 10 goals and 12 assists. If he rapidly gets used to Arne Slot's style, he may be a midfield gem for £8.5 million.
He may even take set pieces because of his ability to connect play and work between the lines, which fits Liverpool's aggressive approach. Wirtz could gain from less defensive focus now that Salah is still involved. Whether he is a must-have or a wait-and-see will depend on early schedules and preseason performance.
Mohamed Salah | MID | £14.5m
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has unequivocally been priced at the highest-ever opening cost for a midfielder in the FPL since the previous best numbers of £14.0m achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008/09. This can be credited in part to a previous blockbuster campaign, where he smashed the record for the most points in a season by recording a whopping 344 points, only tailed from afar by the 234 points of Bryan Mbeumo (8.0m).
Salah delivered a massive 18 double-figure returns in his first season under Arne Slot last season, which solidifies his importance as a captain in the squad due to his consistent performances.
Erling Haaland |FWD| £14.0m
Man City striker Haaland's price has reverted to a humbler £14.0m, compared to his last season's prize of £15.0m, after setting the Premier League on fire for his second consecutive season in the competition, which suggests that the price drop comes in the light of his lukewarm 2024/2025 campaign.
The Manchester City spearhead ranked in the 5th place for forwards with 181 points, after scoring 22 goals and three assists for an overall dismal season for the club. However, these numbers can be deceiving, as they show a lack of conversion, whereas the statistics show no shortage of endeavour with his 98 shots in the box and 40 big chances, which can change significantly next season.
Cole Palmer |MID| £10.5m
Chelsea’s talisman Palmer, continues at £10.5m in Fantasy after finishing among the three top-scoring players for the second successive season. The brilliant Club World Cup campaign would only boost his credibility of ranking a high number of points going into the next season. The youngster in his two primary seasons as a starter has obtained a high point total of 458, scoring 244 and 214, respectively, in back-to-back campaigns.
The Blues are further obliged with a kind schedule for the first 6 game weeks, where none of their matches rank more than 3 on the FDR, which is used to refer to the fixture difficulty ratings. In the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), the easiest possible matches are ranked as No. 1, and the hardest are ranked as No. 5, based on the opponents' previous season ratings, head-to-head record, and current roster.
Bukayo Saka |MID| £10.0m
The Arsenal wingers' availability at a discounted price must have pleasantly surprised many FPL faithful. This price drop can be attributed, in principle, to the sporadic season the England national has had at Arsenal due to injuries. However, these small hurdles have not stopped him from being Arsenal's most influential player on the pitch whenever he lines up in the red and white, as evidenced by his stellar performances for the club in the Champions League. Arsenal winger Saka managed just 127 points last time out, producing six goals and 10 assists across his 25 league outings. This season, boosted by a more suitable squad, Saka could double his output.
Bruno Fernandes |MID| £9.0m
Fernandes served as the attacking and creative hub of an almost stagnant Manchester United team, which has severely inflated his attempted passes, lowering the accurate pass numbers, which are misleading. Bruno, being the dead-ball specialist of the side, has, however, helped maintain a balance between the key passes and assists statistics along with their subsequent volume.
Eight goals and 10 assists underlined the Portuguese’s all-round influence on Manchester United last season and has since helped him maintain his exclusive price for a midfielder in FPL. Bruno can also be considered a budding asset in FPL due to his high number of defensive contributions. He is a player bound to benefit from the new FPL rules.
Jean-Philippe Mateta
The towering Crystal Palace striker Mateta is always involved in the success of the club and would be looking for a great season. The Frenchman will remain at £7.5m after he produced 14 goals, six assists, and 150 points last time out. Although Mateta finished as Palace's top-scoring player in fantasy through this tally, midfielders such as Ismaila Sarr (£6.5m) and Eberechi Eze (£7.5m) scored better points.
