How Did We Choose the Players for the Best Premier League Team of The Year 2025?

It goes without saying that picking your Best EPL XI of the year is not an easy task. While choosing the best XI out of numerous high-profile players, there is a possibility that some deserving players might still miss out. However, in an effort to avoid such a dilemma and eliminate any degree of bias, we have picked out our best Premier League team of the year based on the players’ current form.

Ankit's Best Premier League Team of The Year 2025 (5-3-3):

Ankit Kunwar Premier League TOTY: Raya, Timber, Dias, Van Dijk, Cucurella, Guimaeraes, Declan Rice, Palmer, Eberechi Eze, Cherki, Mateta

Choosing Rice over Caicedo, I'll be honest with my opinion as Rice impressed me more with his leadership quality, driving runs, better passing range for long balls (average/3.5 passes per 90), and have been a premier attacking threat for opponents. He excels in set pieces and progressive carries, even if he feels discomfort on the field for Arsenal.

Why NO Caicedo (average/5.5 passes per 90) in Premier League team of the year shocked you much but I never judged him basis on how he has been good with stats, but his skills with superior tackling, interceptions, and ball recovery this season for one of the best club in the world, Chelsea pushed me to consider him in my Best EPL XI 2025. The Ecuadorian international is missing in providing balance to the team, that's why I kept him out of Best Premier League Team of the Year 2025.

Haaland is always special sometimes for NO reason, but Jean Philippe Mateta has been tactically haunting the opponent in 2025-26 season. The Frenchman has excelled himself in converting opportunities into goals with his external skill like a fox in the box (forwards who cover midfield as well), as he missed only a total of 13 chances, whereas Haaland missed 18.

Surpassing global superstar in key stats, especially xG (Mateta 0.24 vs Haaland 0.23) bring him into my best Premier League team 2025. The Crystal Palace striker was on the prime list of FPL managers this season as he cost them low compare to Haaland.

Pratik’s Best 2025 Premier League XI(4-2-3-1):

Prateek Sahu Best EPL TOTY: Raya; Timber, Guehi, Saliba, Calafiori; Rice, Szoboszlai; Salah, Cherki, Trossard; Haaland

Starting from the back, David Raya is my preferred pick among the goalkeepers. Even in the ongoing season, especially in the last month, Raya’s saves at crucial moments have ensured the Gunners stay at the top of the PL table. Talking of defence, I can’t see beyond picking anyone other than Timber & Calafiori as full-backs. Both of them have put their niggling injuries behind them & have become major cogs in the Gunners’ title charge. Gabriel continues his rich vein of form and, along with Guehi, who has been performing exceptionally well since the last season, is my preferred centre-back pairing.

Talking of the midfield, for the third season running, Declan Rice is showing why he is one of the best Premier League midfielders. Dominik Szoboszlai was not only among the best midfielders in Liverpool’s title-winning 2024/25 season, but was also the only shining light in the Reds’ torrid run of 7 defeats in 12 games in the ongoing PL season.

Despite his recent on-and-off-the-pitch struggles, Mohamed Salah’s record-breaking 2024/25 season alone makes him my preferred Right-winger. Trossard is having a season to remember so far on the left flank, and Rayan Cherki is proving to be one of the bargain signings of the season and deserves to be in the best Premier League Team of the Year. Last but not least, Erling Haaland is my preferred striker as the Norwegian keeps on scoring goals after goals.

Ashu’s Best 2025 Premier League XI (4-2-3-1):

Ashu Ranjeet Premier League TOTY: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, O'Reilly; Rice, Caicedo; Semenyo, Cherki, M. Rogers; Ekitike.

Not going only for numbers, I have handpicked the Premier League Team of the Year from the ongoing 2025-26 campaign. In goal, one of the best goalkeepers in the world, David Raya, is the undisputed choice in between the sticks as Arsenal have been dominating the league with their formidable backline. Gabriel and William’s unshakable partnership is the ultimate choice for the central defender pairing.

Jurrien Timber and Nico O’Reilly will take care of full-back duties, guarding the flanks, and pushing the ball forward to create attacks. Going with a double-pivot, the most in-form midfielders in English football, Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo, are in front of the defence in the middle.

A smart signing from Man City, Ryan Cherki is showing his magic in full swing. The Frenchman’s creative playmaking and trickery give no chance to defenders to prevent him from cruising forward. On wide channels, two standout wingers, Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rodgers, have impressed me the most.

Upfront as a lone striker, Hugo Ekitike will be responsible for finding goals. What a signing he has been for Liverpool, outshining Alexander Isak, displaying his prolificness in front of goal. An incredibly talented forward with superb movements, agility, and finishing suggests he holds a bright future in the Premier League.

Samannay's Best 2025 Premier League XI (4-3-3):

Samannay Sen Best Premier League Team of the Year: Raya; Timber, Van Dijk, Guehi, Calafiori; Rice, Caicedo, Fernandes; Salah, Haaland, Doku.

What an amazing Premier League season we had with extraordinary goals, breathtaking saves, and crunching tackles. While selecting my Premier League team of the season, I have picked a mix of young talents and experienced ballers.

In goal, the flamboyant shot-stopper David Raya dons the list with Van Dijk leading the defense line. The performance of Timber and Calafiori has been phenomenal at the back, providing support in attack. While Moises Caicedo has been on top in snatching and interceptions, Rice dominated the midfield with his ball-distributing skills.
Bruno has performed significantly and provided the most assists for a struggling Man United side.
In the wings, Jeremy Doku has been dancing through defenses with his quick feet. Haaland has been a goal poacher as always and held his authority as the top scorer. Finally, on the right side, Saka has given width and has been exceptional with his cut-back and teasing crosses.

Mohit's Best 2025 Premier League XI (4-2-1-3):

Mohit Tomar Premier League TOTY: Raya; James, Van Dijk, Guehi, Cucurella; Szoboszlai, Rice; Fernandes; Salah, Haaland, Doku.

Picking the Best EPL XI out of countless elite is always a tough job. However, as we're transitioning into 2026, it's reasonable to pick players who have been in exceptional form. From a breakout star like Jeremy Doku to a defensive goliath, Marc Guehi. Reece James and Cucurella will take their respective positions as fullbacks.

In midfield, we have a double pivot of Hungarian sniper Dominik Szoboszlai and Portuguese maestro Bruno Fernandes, while Declan Rice will be playing as a defensive midfielder. In the attack, Mohamed Salah will feature alongside Norwegian machine Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku.

Swastik’s Best 2025 Premier League XI (4-4-2):

Swastik Debnath Best EPL XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Van Dijk, Gvardiol; Palmer, Rice, Caicedo, Eze; Haaland, Gyokeres.

Legends were carved into football history as the 2025 Premier League season exploded to a conclusion. Here is my best Premier League XI, a formidable lineup that combines Rice's skill in midfield, Saliba's unwavering defence, Palmer's brilliant passes, and Haaland's predatory goals. These superstars redefined excellence, destroyed barriers, and sparked rivalries.

Rohan's Best Premier League XI (4-3-3):

Rohan Singh Best EPL XI of the Year: Raya; James, Van Dijk, Guehi, Calafiori; Szoboszlai, Rice, Fernandes; Salah, Haaland, Doku.

Ignoring all the online hype, PR, and lobbying on the internet, my Best EPL team of the year is built around players who genuinely delivered for their clubs across both the 2024/25 and 2025/26 Premier League seasons. Marc Guehi and Doku stand out as true breakouts, showcasing exceptional skill this season and establishing themselves as among the very best in their positions. Up front, the striker spot undoubtedly belongs to Erling Haaland; no one else comes close when numbers are considered.

In midfield, the selections weren't just the best performers but true carriers who stepped up and carried their teams through crucial matches in both the last and current season. The defense is packed with experienced players. Mohamed Salah earns his captain's armband based on his massive contributions last season and his timely game-changing interventions that often saved or defined Liverpool's 2024/25 title push.

Aishik's Best EPL Team of the Year XI (4-3-3):

Aishik Das Premier League TOTY: Raya; Timber, Van Dijk, Saliba, Calafiori; Rice, Zubimendi, Merino; Saka, Haaland, Doku.

Without any recency bias, my Best Premier League XI is based on every player’s contribution throughout the year. David Raya is a sure-shot starter between the sticks, with Jurrien Timber playing as right back due to his exceptional defensive and attacking prowess, especially from set-pieces.
Van Dijk and William Saliba as center backs were a no-brainer, with Calafiori occupying the left back position. Rice has been one of the best midfielders in the league for quite some time now, along with Arsenal’s new addition Martin Zubimendi, as the defensive midfielder.
Mikel Merino has been chosen purely based on his work rate on the field and his knack for scoring goals in crunch situations. Bukayo Saka tips Mo Salah for the right-wing position, as the Egyptian has had a dip in form since the business end of last season.
Erling Haaland starts as a striker as usual, being the best goalscorer in the league. Jeremy Doku has surprised everyone with his unpredictability, making him one of the best left-wingers in the league. So he deserves a shoutout in the Premier League Team of the Year.
