The Leicester City midfielder has fully embraced his roots in Bangladesh and now seems to have strengthened his bond with the Bangladesh Football Team fans by engaging in another popular sport in the country.

Hamza Choudhury Plays Cricket In Leicester City Training Field

Bangladesh football team sensation Hamza Choudhury made his debut for the Bangladesh Football team earlier in March 2025, when he featured in their 0-0 draw against India in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers. He has since gone on to become a crucial player for the Bengal Tigers, and now it seems like Hamza is also showing off his cricket-playing skills after featuring in a game of cricket in training.

In Leicester City's training facility, Hamza assumed control of a cricket bat to show off his ability to play the sport. The former Leicester City midfielder can be seen lining up and taking a clear stance for batting, with this being part of an ' A ‘Cricket Challenge’ organized by the Leicester City social media team amid the ongoing Ashes series between Australia and England.

Hamza can be seen facing off deliveries from Pro Cricketer Ben Mike, who is an all-rounder for the Leicestershire county side.

As part of this Cricket Challenge, Choudhury is also forced to take part in a fielding challenge against Luke Thomas, with both of them scoring six points each. They take on a bowling challenge as well, with Hamzah Choudhry hitting the wickets with some balls before the two take part in the batting challenge. Ultimately, Luke Thomas wins the Cricket Challenge, as Hamza finishes with one point fewer than the Englishman, but is clearly sporting after the defeat. Hamza clearly seems to be a fan of Cricket, which is a popular sport in both England and Bangladesh!

How Did Hamza Choudhury Perform For Bangladesh in 2025?

Hamza Choudhury made his official debut for the Bengal Tigers in March, 2025 and has since gone on to feature for them regularly. The Leicester City midfielder was able to score his first-ever goal for the Bangladesh National Football Team on 4 June 2025, by scoring in a 2-0 win over Bhutan in an International Friendly. He is mostly playing as a defensive midfielder for the Bangladesh Football Team, but making use of his physical prowess to be a threat on the set pieces as well.

Hamza has been able to make seven appearances for Bangladesh at the senior level, which is the same number of appearances he made for England under-21s in his career.
