The 24-year-old rammed his shin into Mikel Merino during a tussle for the ball, but mistimed it horribly as it left the Arsenal star in a heap. Originally booked with a yellow, the referee then changed his decision to a straight red following a review on the pitchside monitor. He was subsequently handed a three-game ban, starting from tonight. Caicedo will also remain out for their Bournemouth and Everton games. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer is in contention to start tonight, confirmed Maresca in a press conference. The prolific forward has missed the last few months with an injury but returned to the bench in the London derby on Saturday, although Maresca didn't call him on at any point.
