A tense matchup at the Houston Stadium as Cape Verde took on Saudi Arabia in Group H of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Cape Verde were in the driving seat as they needed just a point to seal historic qualification to the Round of 32, while Saudi Arabia needed a win at all costs to keep their chances alive.

The first half was quite open, but neither of the two teams saw any success in front of the goal. Willy Semedo came the closest for the Cape Verde national football team, but Al Owais was on point to keep the score level.
