In the 60th minute, there was a rift between both of them as the Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman took a shot instead of passing the ball to Osimhen, who was on a hat-trick. After that incident, Lookman was seen verbally engaging in a heated disagreement with Lookman, and captain Wilfried Ndidi even had to intervene.

He further asked the Nigerian gaffer to sub him off and he was subbed off a few minutes later. According to reports, he even skipped the post-match celebrations.
