Diogo Jota Children to Receive Warm Welcome at Anfield During Wolves Game

Diogo Jota Children will accompany the respective mascots of Liverpool and Wolves at Anfield when both sets of players walk out to take the field.

Diogo Jota sons, Dinis and Duarte, will be receiving a warm welcome ahead of the game, as a sense of gratitude and honour. The late Liverpool star Diogo Jota played for both clubs in his career. This will be the first time his two former clubs will be facing each other after his demise.

As we all know, Diogo and his brother Andre suffered a horrific car crash in the northwestern part of Spain in July, from which they couldn't survive. This act by both the clubs will be another touching moment for the Diogo Jota family, who have been going through an emotionally tough phase. However, this is not the first time that Diogo Jota has received a tribute this season. Fans of both clubs poured their hearts out in their respective season openers, where his wife Rute Cardoso and his two sons were also present.

Diogo Jota Tribute Planned for Liverpool vs Wolves

The Wolves' supporters unveiled a tifo ahead of their first Premier League match against Manchester City at the Molineux Stadium, which depicted Diogo Jota celebrating a goal for them. The tifo read ‘We'll Remember You When You Walk in the Fields of Gold."

Liverpool too showed their respect with a minute's silence observed ahead of their season opener against Bournemouth, followed by applause from the fans in every home game since. The Liverpool fans, holding red and white placards, arranged themselves to form the ‘DJ20’ and ‘AS30’, the shirt numbers of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, during the moment of silence. They also sang a heartwarming rendition of their anthem ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone," as the players walked out from the tunnel.
