The AIFF Super Cup holders FC Goa are gearing up for their second home fixture in the 2025-26 Indian Super League against Sporting Delhi at PJN Fatorda Stadium on Thursday 26th of February. The Gaurs pick up their first win courtesy of a commanding 2-0 victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club in an away outing, when they were last time out in Kolkata. Both of their foreign names, Pol Moreno and Dejan Dražić, were the goal scorers as Manolo Marquez coached FC Goa secured all three points.

Subsequently, they are now sitting at 5th place with 4 points in hand after two Indian Super League matches. On the other hand, ISL newcomers Sporting Delhi are struggling at the bottom of the points table following two back-to-back defeats against Bengaluru FC and Kolkata giants East Bengal in their first two league games.

Goa Boss Manolo Urges Fans to Arrive in Numbers in Home Game

Ahead of FC Goa's second home clash against SC Delhi at PJN, the 57-year-old Spanish gaffer addressed the journalists in the pre-match conference. Upon being asked about fans particpation in the ongoing makeshift Indian Super League season, Manolo asked fans to turn up in big numbers for the second match while also appreciating fans who came to the stands in the season opener against Inter Kashi.

We are very grateful to the fans who came to support us in the first game against Inter Kashi, Manolo Marquez said, “but we would love to see even more people in the stands. I may not be from India, but if I were, I would want to see Indian players representing my team.

The Spanish tactician added.

I understand that many people enjoy watching foreign players, but our Indian players truly deserve stronger support for the hard work they are putting in, the trophies they are fighting for, and the long season they have already endured. Even though the stadium was not full, there was still a good number of supporters, and that connection between the team and the fans is extremely important. We need their backing. Just as we want them to support us, we also want to give them good performances in return.

FC Goa under Manolo Marquez will look to carry their winning momentum against SC Delhi in the ISL 2025-26.
