UEFA Sanctions Bayern Munich & Few Other Top Clubs, Because of...

Summary
Bayern Munich were slapped with a hefty €116,000 fine by UEFA for fan misconduct during their UCL clash against Sporting Lisbon. Meanwhile, the Portuguese club has also been imposed with UEFA sanctions, which include a fine of €40,000 with an additional ban on ticket sales for their next away game in the competition. The match, which the Bavarians won 3-1, was overshadowed by the in-match events. Fans ignited fireworks during the match as large clouds of smoke rose in the stadium. Bayern were also charged with blocking passageways. Due to it, UEFA have announced partial closures of sectors 111 to 114 in their Allianz Arena stadium, one of the best stadiums in the world, ahead of their next UCL game against Union Saint-Gilloise on 21st January.
The German champions were also handed a partial stadium closure, but that remains suspended for now for a two-year probationary period. In the hotly contested match with Sporting, the Bayern fans were also seen throwing objects onto the pitch, while UEFA also penalised them for transmitting messages not fit for a sports event. There are a few other clubs that were sanctioned by the European football governing body, but Bayern Munich UEFA sanctions were on a larger level than usual.
Frankfurt & Sporting CP Among Clubs on the List of UEFA Sanctions
Though Bayern Munich grabbed a large chunk of the headlines, Ligue 1 outfit Lille were also among those on the list of UEFA sanctions. They have received a fine of €10,000 & a suspended ticket ban for the use of smoke bombs and fireworks during their Europa League clash with Swiss club Young Boys, who beat them 1-0. It was a hotly contested game which saw both teams reduced to 10-men as Ayyoub Bouaddi for Lille & Tanguy Zoukrou saw red for the Swiss side.
Another German club, Eintracht Frankfurt, was also targeted by UEFA sanctions. The Eagles were charged because their fans were pelting objects on the field, lighting up fireworks, and even damaging Camp Nou Stadium during their 2-1 loss to Barcelona earlier this month. Frankfurt have been fined €36,000. They were given 30 days to contact Barca for the settlement of damages caused to their toilet seats in the away section. The Israeli side, Maccabi Tel-Aviv fans, keep on getting in trouble, as they were hit with a €20,000 fine for racist or discriminatory behaviour by their fans during their clash with VfB Stuttgart.
