Fabio has spent a lot of time at various clubs, starting with Benfica's reserve team in after which he joined Pacos De Ferreira on a season-long loan twice from 2015 to 2016 and then finally joined Vitoria De Setubal in 2016. Fabio then joined Rangers in 2017 and then joined Santa Clara in 2018, where he found some stability and spent three years there. Fabio then joined FC Porto in 2021 and spent three years there, finding decent game time and winning numerous titles, up until 2024, when Porto loaned him to Al-Ain FC, where he is currently playing. Club Career

Pacos De Ferreria: Although Fabio Cardoso had spent almost nine years with Benfica, he never managed to break into the first team. He did play for their B team or reserves, making over 50 appearances, but was then loaned to fellow Primera Liga side Pacos De Ferreira in 2015 for a season -ong loan. The deal was repeated once again and overall, he amassed 43 appearances for Pacos De Ferreira, in which he had a goal and an assist.

Vitoria De Setubal: Fabio joined Vitoria Setubal in July 2016, signing a four-year contract with them and making 27 appearances for them in his only season. He did have a memorable moment for them, scoring the winning goal against Santa Clara in a 2-1 win to qualify the team for the group stage of the Taça da Liga. Overall, he amassed 27 appearances for Vitoria De Setubal, in which he had a goal and two assists.

Rangers: Surprisingly, Fabio cut his deal short with Vitoria De Setubal and joined Rangers in 2017 on a three-year contract, where he made only 18 appearances and was then released from his contract in July 2018.

Santa Clara: Shockingly, again, Fabio spent only one more season at Rangers, just like he did at Vitoria De Setubal. However, Santa Clara approached him a day after he was released from his contract with Rangers in July 2018. Porto: Porto approached Fabio after his contract ended with Santa Clara in 2021 and signed him on a five-year deal.
