Oscar Gloukh was born and brought up in Rehovot, Israel. He is the son of a renowned footballer, Maxim Gloukh, who immigrated from Russia to Israel. Oscar was the best friend of Afik Tery, who was a fellow professional footballer in the Israeli Premier League. Tery was announced as killed in combat on March 1, 2024, while serving Israel Defense Forces as a soldier in the Gaza war.
Oscar Gloukh graduated from the Maccabi football academy, and later he joined Maccabi Tel Aviv as a professional footballer. The Israeli midfielder got too much support from his father, as his father encouraged him to become a professional footballer. On 8th August, 2021, Oscar made a debut in Maccabi Tel Aviv's senior team. On April 11, 2022, Oscar also made a debut in the Israeli Premier League match against Maccabi Haifa, where he scored his debut goal in the 28th minute.
On 27th January, 2023, Red Bull Salzburg offered him a contract with a decent amount of €7.5 million. Oscar Gloukh signed this contract and joined the Austrian Bundesliga champion, Red Bull Salzburg, with a 4.5-year contract. Gloukh netted a UEFA Champions League goal in the 51st minute on his debut against a Portuguese side, Benfica. This made him the youngest Israeli international to ever score in a UEFA Champions League match, at the age of 19.
Oscar Gloukh's playing style, characterized by his technical skills, ability, playmaking, and smart positional play, is crucial for Thomas Letsch's managed side. As a playmaker, he excels in the half spaces, picking out dangerous passes and creating opportunities. The Israeli international's technical skill, ability to read the game mean he is involved in all of his side of the attacking play, as he can score goals as well as he can also able to create chances.
However, Gloukh has room for improvement, as his off-the-ball movements, especially in attacking spaces, also need to improve in defensive and pressing. Moreover, Gloukh is known for his striking ability, but he could increase his shot volume to become a bigger threat as number 10.
