Tom Allen Fellows was born on July 25th, 2003, in the city of Solihull, England and his footballing career was shaped by his parents and his surroundings. The player grew in the rich West Midlands. Although information about his family is not available in the public domain Fellows developed a love for football in his early days, and later, that passion turned into his profession. The West Brom player has always given credit for his footballing career to his parents. He recently gave an interview where he stated that he discussed with his parents before signing the contract extension with West Brom till 2027. His family not only focused on his football but also on his values. Even the West Brom manager recently highlighted his work rate and behaviour in the dressing room.
Tom Fellows plays on the right flank for West Brom, and his main strengths are passing and playmaking. The only demerit he has is his aerial duel-winning capability due to a lack of experience. If we look at Fellows' heat map of the season, you can see the red patch on the top right corner, which suggests that although his role is that of a right midfielder on paper, he also positions himself as a winger or an overlapping midfielder.
One mind-tinkering stat is his ability to provide assists from anywhere on the pitch. His XA for the 2024/25 season was 6.66, but his actual assists were 14, almost double, which proves his ability to provide assists from any position on the pitch. Fellows' work rate is outstanding, which means that he covers the whole right-hand side and participates in duels, whether it's in attack or defense. His composure under high-pressure situations and ability to deliver in crucial moments, like he did against Watford by providing 2 assists in their 2-1 win, highlights his growing maturity. Though he is not a forward, his contribution of 33% in all the goals scored by West Brom makes him undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in the Championship.
