Wilfried Gnonto was born on November 5, 2003 in Verbania, Italy, to Ivorian parents who immigrated to Italy seeking a brighter future. Wilfried grew up in the small town of Baveno, located on the shores of Lake Maggiore, and he was raised in a family focused on core values centered around family, simplicity and valuable lessons of hard work, moderation and praise for education. Early in life Wilfried showed football skills, defined by his parents, predominantly father, gladly catering to Wilfried's football interest, as he oftentimes did accompany his training and games, since he never appeared to be arrogant. Despite being financially limited, the Gnonto family was firmly bound in facilitating Wilfried towards realizing his dream while education and family life took precedence, and Wilfried was also coping with an integrated football life.
Wilfried Gnonto started his stint with Inter Milan's academy at the age of 9 where he learned technical skills as well as football sense. Gnonto wasn't as tall as a couple of his teammates, but his velocity, quick thinking, and comfort in playing allowed him to appear to be a great performer during the beginning of his training and matches. His family being behind him and his early culture of Italian football assisted in molding Wilfried as a person from humble roots to a non-entity work-horse style player.
Wilfried Gnonto is an explosive and courageous forward, characterized by his low center of gravity, sharp dribbling skills, and aggressive pace that render him a nightmare one-on-one for defenders. Not the tallest nor physically strongest player, he uses his agility and rapid acceleration to glide past defenders with relative ease. He excels in expansive spaces, especially on the left flank, but also performs admirably on the right or even centrally as a second forward. One of the greatest assets of Wilfried Gnonto is his close control of the ball in congested areas. He possesses fast feet, fine close dribbling, and the ingenuity to open up defences, most notably when counter-attacking. His quick change-of-direction and calmness under duress provide him with an advantage over more physically powerful defenders.
Not withstanding his youth, Wilfried Gnonto is remarkably mature and industrious. He supports opponents in behind, presses high when required, and does not often duck from physical confrontations. He has good vision as well and can pick a clever pass or a threatening cross from the wings. Whether he's beginning or off the bench, Wilfried Gnonto contributes vigor, spontaneity, and attacking flair attributes that make him an asset to both his club and his national team.
