Real Madrid vs Leganes Preview

  • Tournament: La Liga
  • Venue: Santiago Bernabeu
  • Date: 29th March, 2025
  • Kick-off Time: 07:00 PM GMT

Real Madrid vs Leganes is set to take place in a La Liga fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on 30th March. The Galacticos are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are always in contention to win major trophies each season. Despite this they always manage to keep their cool and composure in La Liga and they have done that fairly well this season as well. Real Madrid are in second position with 60 points winning 18 matches, drawing six and losing four.

Although this is not great for them since rivals FC Barcelona are above them in first place with a game in hand, it is still exemplary. The home side will give their best to win all further matches and expect FC Barcelona to slip up. Real Madrid's form in the previous five games has been decent considering their high standards winning three matches, drawing one and losing one.

Leganes on the other hand are very opposite to Real Madrid in terms of performances and results this season. Leganes are in the relegation zone in 18th place with 27 points winning a mere six games, drawing nine and losing 13 games.

They have lost more games than victories this season which in itself signifies their struggles and massive under performance this season. The visitors form in their previous five games has been nothing short of disappointing since they have lost three matches, drawn one and won one match.

Leganes have just attained promotion to La Liga after the 2019-2020 season and are having a horrible return in Spanish football's top tier league.

Kylian has not even reached his full potential at Real Madrid and is already one of the best attackers in the world. Mbappe is coming off from a notable performance against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals and is in great form. Overall, he has scored 30 goals and has five assists to his name in 43 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions this season. Moreover, Mbappe has been scoring consecutively in the previous two La Liga matches and will surely extend his goalscoring streak against Leganes.

Dani Raba (Leganes)

The Spaniard is a versatile player having played at right-wing, attacking mid and even centre-forward this season for Leganes. Dani Raba was in Valencia playing in La Liga back in the 2021-2022 season after which he left and joined Leganes because he wanted playing time.

Ever since joining Leganes, Raba has scored 18 goals and has 14 assists to his name in 90 appearances for the club across all competitions. Raba has scored six goals this season and has five assists in 24 appearances for Leganes and is their best chance to score a goal against Real Madrid on 30th March.

Real Madrid vs Leganes Prediction

Real Madrid are obviously the favourites going into this game. The Galacticos have been unbeaten against Leganes in their previous five fixtures as well almost scoring an average of two goals per game.

Real Madrid will not look to drop any points as they are already behind FC Barcelona who have a game in hand and are above Atletico Madrid who are just behind with 56 points.

This implies that as usual Carlo Ancelotti is not here to mess around and will field a strong lineup against Leganes to grab the necessary three points.

Leganes might be able to score a goal since Madrid's backline has a lot of missing players however the eventual winner is very likely to be Real Madrid.

Prediction: Real Madrid 3-1 Leganes
