Al Nassr faced Al Shabab on matchday 15 of the Saudi Pro League 2025/26 season. Al Nassr seemed to be in cruise control, but they faced quite a few hiccups before grabbing all three points. They are back on winning terms after three defeats on the trot against Al Ahli, Al Qadisiyah, and Al Hilal, respectively, even after having a stupendous start to the season, where they were unbeaten for a total of 10 games on the trot.

The game started in a very scrappy way with Al Nassr taking the lead. An own goal from Saad Balobaid in just the second minute put Al Nassr in the driving seat. Just six minutes later, Kingsley Coman scored with an audacious bicycle kick to double the lead for the hosts on the night.

Although Al Shabab were the inferior of the two sides, they managed a goal back in the 31st minute, courtesy of an own goal from Al Nassr's centre back, Mohamed Simakan. The first half ended with the 2-1 scoreline with Al Nassr dominating most of the game.

Early on in the second half, Al Shabab registered a comeback as their number nine, Carlos, equalised from a neat assist from the ex-Atletico Madrid player, Yannick Carrasco. However, just when Al Shabab seemed to get hold of things, a catastrophe dawned upon them. Vincent Sierro was sent off in the 67th minute, bringing his team down to 10 men.

Al Nassr took the opportunity quite well, as they managed to take the lead in the 76th minute from a neat strike by Abdulrahman Ghareeb. The hosts saw off the danger quite nicely, keeping 10-man Al Shabab at bay to keep their title charge alive.
