Declan Rice got the Gunners off to a flying start as he volleyed in Kai Havertz’s cushioned pass to make it 1-0 after just two minutes. The hosts had 75% possession in the first half but managed just one other shot on target as they were unable to add to their lead.
Havertz grabbed a goal for himself midway through the second half as he leaped highest to reach Gabriel Martinelli’s cross to make it 2-0. Both managers made changes but Dinamo Zagreb were unable to create anything in the final third. Martin Odegaard scored in stoppage time to round off the scoring for Arsenal in a straightforward win.
