Arsenal 2-1 Leeds United Player Ratings: Guimarães Completes Arsenal's Comeback As Mikel Arteta and co. Return To Winning Ways After The International Break

Mikel Arteta's men survived a major scare in their return to Premier League action as they edged past Leeds United in a 2-1 thriller at the Emirates. The Gunners were dominant throughout the first half, having 60% possession with an xG of 0.41, similar to what their visitors had.

Despite racking up a total of 11 shots, neither side could break the deadlock in the first half. Leeds United got their hopes high of a potential win when James Justin got to the end of a low cross from Gabriel Gudmundsson to smash it home in the 55th minute.

However, one of the best football clubs in the world currently, Arsenal showed why they can never be outdone in today's date. Noni Madueke put in a cross with his weaker foot from the left side, which was nodded in back across the six-yard box by Ben White for an onrushing Riccardo Calafiori, whose effort struck the crossbar and went in to give Arsenal the much-needed equalizer.

Just eight minutes later, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Declan Rice combined beautifully to set up substitute Bruno Guimarães at the edge of the box, who just placed his shot in the right bottom corner, much to the delight of the home fans.
