Aston Villa 2-1 Manchester City Player Ratings: Nicolas Jackson's Brace Helps Aston Villa Secure Their First Home Win In The League This Season

Manchester City's 100% record in the Premier League came to a halt as they faced Aston Villa in a matchday 8 fixture. Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring early in the 6th minute, after Marc Guéhi miscontrolled a pass to John McGinn in the danger area, who later set up the Senegalese to finish past Donnarumma at the near post.

Erling Haaland's header in the 52nd minute from a Iliman Ndiaye did level things up, but Jackson was on hand to give Aston Villa the lead once again just eight minutes later, which proved to be the decisive goal of the game.

Gigi Donnarumma could have done a bit better on the second goal, which went through his diving arms, much to his agony.
