Bangladesh 1-2 Singapore Player Ratings: Clinical Lions Edge Out Inefficient Bengal Tigers To Go Top Of AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers Group

Summary
Singapore picked up a 2-1 win over Bangladesh in their AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifier at the National Stadium, Dhaka on Tuesday (June 10, 2025). One goal apiece in either half helped the visitors take a big lead, and Rakib Hossein's goal wasn't enough to get a result for his side.
The game started in an intense, aggressive fashion with a lot of fouls. The visitors had the first big chance as Song Uiyong put a shot wide from inches away in the 9th minute. Singapore forward Ikhsan Fandi also had a few efforts off-target in the first half. Bangladesh were unable to threaten Singapore and were made to pay for that, with Uiyong capitalizing on a goalkeeping error to head the ball into an open net in the 45th minute.
Bangladesh failed to amp up their attacking firepower after the break and gifted a sloppy second goal. Ikhsan Fandi was able to smartly finish from close range in the 55th minute to make it 2-0 for his side! However, the Bengal Tigers fired back into the game as Rakid Hossein powered a shot through the goalkeeper in the 67th minute, which was assisted by former Premier League player Hamza Choudhury, to make it 2-1. Bangladesh pushed hard for an equalizer, but the visitors dug in to get a win that takes them to the top of their Asian Cup qualifiers group.
