Benfica 4-1 Celtic Player Ratings: Prestianni 9.5/10 as the Eagles Dismantle the Bhoys in a Stunning Lisbon UEL Masterclass

Benfica delivered one of the Europa League’s most complete home performances of the season, dismantling Celtic 4-1 at the Sport Lisboa Stadium with a display of attacking fluency, clinical finishing, and collective intensity that Martin O’Neill’s side had absolutely no answer to across a one-sided evening that underlines Marco Silva’s Eagles as genuine contenders to go deep in this competition.

The contest was effectively decided within the opening 23 minutes, Duran’s early penalty and Bah’s composed finish giving Benfica a two-goal platform that Celtic, despite their well-documented European resilience, could never realistically threaten to overturn. The Bhoys’ inability to establish any meaningful defensive shape in those opening stages was the tactical story of the evening, and Prestianni was the creative architect exploiting every gap with relentless, devastating efficiency.

Gianluca Prestianni was simply unplayable, his movement, vision and direct running the constant thread behind Benfica’s most dangerous moments throughout a dominant display that earned him a thoroughly deserved 9.5/10 rating. Camilo Duran’s 63rd-minute strike gave Celtic a brief consolation before Pavlidis’ 89th-minute fourth completed the rout, yet by that stage, the scoreline merely confirmed what had been apparent from the opening minutes.
