Chelsea 0-3 Barcelona Player Ratings: Blues Dominate Spanish Giants In UCL Fixture At Home

Barcelona traveled to London on the back of a commanding La Liga win over Athletic Club to face Chelsea in a UEFA Champions League fixture. The Blues have also been in dominant form lately, enjoying a long unbeaten run across all competitions. Chelsea beat Burnley in their last Premier League fixture at a score of 2-0.

Barcelona started the UCL game on a high, with Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal leading the Catalan attack. Ferran Torres had a golden opportunity to put Barcelona in front early in the first half. The Spanish forward missed the target from a close range.

Enzo Fernández certainly stole the show for Chelsea, but was caught offside twice. The home side found the breakthrough in the form of an own goal by Jules Kounde. Chelsea should be appreciated for their efforts in setting up the goal from a corner. After conceding the goal, Barcelona kept on pushing for the equaliser, with Lamine Yamal leading the charge.

Just ahead of the first-half whistle, Ronald Araujo made the situation worse for FC Barcelona. The defender made a silly tackle on Marc Cucurella on the left flank. Already on a yellow, Araujo was sent off, with Barcelona going down to ten men. The Chelsea vs Barcelona score remained 1-0 at halftime.

Chelsea started dominantly against ten-man Barca in the second half, pulling off a flurry of attacks. They finally made it 2-0 through an impressive strike by Estevao. The Brazilian toyed with the Barcelona defense before finishing from a tight angle to put Chelsea in command. The London giants had a few more opportunities, but the Barcelona defense stood tall.
Liam Delap finally scored the third goal for Chelsea as Barcelona were thrown out of the contest. Hansi Flick's men were unable to keep up with the pace of the confident Chelsea unit. The Chelsea vs Barcelona game ended 3-0 in favour of the English unit. Following the heavy defeat, Barcelona remain 15th in the Champions League 2025-26 table, while Chelsea hold the fifth spot inside the direct qualification zone.
