Arsenal Player Ratings vs Club Brugge

Goalkeeper

David Raya - 8.5: Absolutely rock solid when called upon. He made a staggering seven saves to keep his clean sheet intact. Six of those saves were from inside the box, which shows how crucial he was. We noticed his distribution was also top-notch, launching attacks quickly. A commanding performance that bred confidence throughout the backline.

Defenders

Ben White - 6.5: A mixed but generally solid outing. He was tidy in possession with 94% pass accuracy but got caught out and received a yellow card. Didn't offer as much going forward as we'd like. He did his defensive duties without much fuss before being substituted late on.

Piero Hincapié - 7.5: An all-action display from the defender. He was desperately unlucky not to score, hitting the woodwork in the first half. He was strong in the duel winning most of his battles. Looked a real threat before his substitution. From our perspective, he was a key part of the defensive solidity.

Christian Nørgaard - 7.0: A steady and composed performance at the heart of the defence. He passed the ball with 93% accuracy and made some important tackles and clearances. Picked up a yellow card for a necessary foul. Overall a very reliable presence who kept the Brugge attackers quiet for most of the game.

Myles Lewis-Skelly - 8.0: What a fantastic performance from the young defender. Not only did he contribute to a clean sheet but he also provided a brilliant assist for Martinelli's goal. He created another big chance too. Showed maturity beyond his years with his positioning and passing. A truly impressive display.

Midfielders

Martin Ødegaard - 7.0: The captain was his usual creative self before being taken off. He was pulling the strings in the attacking third and kept the ball moving nicely. His influence was clear, even if he wasn't directly involved in the goals. A good shift, rested for future games.

Mikel Merino - 6.5: A quiet but effective game. He did a lot of the unseen work, breaking up play and recycling possession. His passing was decent but he lost the ball a few too many times for our liking. A solid, if unspectacular, performance in the middle of the park.

Martín Zubimendi - 9.0: A midfield masterclass. He was the architect of this victory. Two beautiful assists, six key passes, and three big chances created. On top of that, he made eight ball recoveries. He completely dictated the tempo and flow of the match. A truly world-class performance.

Forwards

Gabriel Martinelli - 8.5: Scored an absolute screamer from outside the box. He was a constant menace with his direct running and created four chances for his teammates. He lost possession a bit too often, but his end product was decisive. A thrilling and impactful performance.

Viktor Gyökeres - 5.0: A really tough night for the striker. He missed a golden opportunity with a header in the first half and never looked comfortable. He struggled to get involved in the game, managing only 12 touches. It was no surprise to see him substituted.

Noni Madueke - 9.5: The highest-rated player and man of the match, without a doubt. He was simply sensational. Scored two goals, a long-range rocket and a clever header. His direct dribbling and confidence were on full display. He terrorized the Club Brugge defence until he was substituted. What a player.

Bukayo Saka - 6.5: Brought on to see the game out and showed some neat touches.

Ethan Nwaneri - 6.5: Looked comfortable on the ball and nearly grabbed an assist.

Marli Salmon - N/A: Came on too late to make an impact.

Manager

M. Arteta - 9.0: His game plan worked to perfection. The team selection was spot on, allowing players like Madueke and Zubimendi to shine. His substitutions were timely and managed the game expertly. A flawless European night for the gaffer.

Goalkeeper

Dani van den Heuvel - 7.0: Despite conceding three goals, he was arguably Club Brugge's best player. He made seven saves, including some excellent stops to deny further damage. Without his heroics, the scoreline could have been far uglier. He was let down by his defence.

Defenders

Joel Ordóñez - 6.0: Made a massive seven clearances and a goal-line block. He fought hard, but the constant pressure from Arsenal's attack was too much to handle. He was part of a defence that was simply outclassed on the night.

Hugo Siquet - 5.0: A difficult evening. He struggled to contain Arsenal's wingers and was dribbled past three times. He did create a couple of chances going forward but his defensive frailties were exposed. Substituted after 67 minutes.

Brandon Mechele - 5.5: He had a high pass completion rate but struggled defensively. Lost most of his aerial duels and was a step behind the play. Made seven clearances but it felt like he was just clearing his lines under pressure all game.

Joaquin Seys - 5.0: A very tough assignment against Madueke and Martinelli. He made three tackles but was beaten too easily at times. The youngster fought hard but was overwhelmed by the quality of the opposition. It was a steep learning curve.

Midfielders

Christos Tzolis - 6.5: One of the few bright sparks for Brugge. He was always trying to make things happen, taking four shots and creating two chances. His delivery from wide areas was a threat, but he couldn't find the killer ball.

Carlos Forbs - 6.5: Had a decent game, creating three key passes and working hard defensively. He was involved in some of Brugge's best attacks in the first half. Faded a bit as the game went on before being subbed.

Raphael Onyedika - 5.5: Battled hard in midfield but was second best to his Arsenal counterparts. He gave away a few fouls and struggled to impose himself on the game. Not his best night.

Hans Vanaken - 6.0: The captain tried to orchestrate play but found it difficult against a disciplined Arsenal midfield. He created four chances but also missed a decent one himself. A frustrating night where his quality only showed in glimpses.

Aleksandar Stanković - 6.0: He was busy and had six shots, but his finishing was wayward. He never stopped running and tried to get his team going, but lacked the final product. A performance full of effort but little quality.

Forwards

Nicolò Tresoldi - 5.5: He worked hard up front, winning a decent number of duels, but was isolated. He had one shot on target but was largely starved of service. It was a thankless task against a dominant defence.

Substitutes

Bjorn Meijer - 6.0: Came on and showed some energy down the left flank.

Kaye Furo - 6.5: Looked dangerous after coming on, forcing a good save from Raya.

Kyriani Sabbe - 6.0: Also tested Raya with a shot late in the game.

Hugo Vetlesen - 5.5: Didn't have much time to influence the match.

Mamadou Diakhon - N/A: On for the final few minutes.

Manager

I. Leko - 5.0: His team came up against a far superior opponent, and his tactics couldn't cope. Club Brugge looked open at the back and lacked a cutting edge up front. He tried to change things with substitutions, but the game was already lost. A difficult lesson in the Champions League.
