Eintracht Frankfurt and Atalanta produced a match of two contrasting halves at Deutsche Bank Park. The first 45 minutes were tense and controlled, with Frankfurt competing well and enjoying a few promising moments, though they lacked precision in the final pass. Atalanta, however, offered clear warnings. Ademola Lookman and Gianluca Scamacca both struck the woodwork in the same sequence, signalling the threat to come.

Goalkeeper
Michael Zetterer - 5.5: He made a few saves, but was completely exposed for the three goals. We felt for him, as his defense just evaporated in front of him in that crucial five-minute spell. He couldn't have done much about any of the finishes. His distribution was okay, but he was a passenger during the collapse.
Defenders
Arthur Theate - 5.0: A really difficult night for the defender. He was part of a backline that was torn to shreds in the second half. What stood out to us was his struggle to contain Atalanta's fluid movement. He wasn't directly at fault for one single goal, but he was powerless to stop the tide. A tough experience.
Robin Koch - 5.5: The captain tried to hold things together, and even made a last-man tackle. He also missed a big chance with a header in the first half which could have changed the game's complexion. However, as the leader of the defense, he has to take responsibility for the second-half capitulation. It all fell apart too easily.
Nnamdi Collins - 4.5: From our perspective, he looked out of his depth. Losing possession 16 times is a staggering number for a defender. He was dribbled past twice and just couldn't handle the pace and intelligence of Atalanta's forwards. A very steep learning curve for the young defender against top opposition.

Midfielders
Farès Chaïbi - 5.5: He tried, you have to give him that. He put in a few crosses and had a shot on target. But ultimately his final product was lacking and he lost the ball far too often. In a game where possession was key, his 15 losses were costly. He never stopped running but the quality wasn't there.
Mahmoud Dahoud - 5.0: A really anonymous performance from a player who should be controlling the midfield. He was a non-factor for most of his 70 minutes. He failed to impose himself, was dribbled past twice, and offered little protection to his backline. His substitution was no surprise.
Ritsu Doan - 6.0: One of Frankfurt's brighter sparks, especially in the first half. He looked to take players on and won a few fouls in dangerous areas. His influence waned significantly as Atalanta took control, and he was subbed off with the game already lost. A decent effort in a losing cause.
Nathaniel Brown - 4.5: We barely noticed he was on the pitch. A very quiet and ineffective performance. Offered little going forward and was part of a midfield that was completely overrun. His stats reflect a player who struggled to get involved in any meaningful way. A night to forget.
Forwards
Ansgar Knauff - 5.0: He worked hard but had very little impact on the game. With only 25 touches in 78 minutes, he was on the periphery of the action. He won a few duels but never looked like a threat to the Atalanta goal. It was a frustrating evening for him.
Jonathan Burkardt - 6.0: It felt like his injury-enforced substitution was a turning point. He was a willing runner and had a few shots blocked in the first half. Frankfurt looked less organized and a bit lost after he went off. It's hard to rate him fully, but the team missed his presence.
Mario Götze - 5.0: We expected so much more from a player of his calibre. He was virtually invisible. He drifted through the game without making any significant impact and was caught offside. His substitution was deserved. A really disappointing display when his team needed his creativity.

Substitutes
Jean-Mattéo Bahoya - 5.5: Came on for the injured Burkardt and had one shot saved late on, but the game was already gone.
Michy Batshuayi - 5.0: Brought on to change things but had no service and couldn't get involved.
Ellyes Skhiri - 5.5: Added some presence but the damage was long done.
Aurélio Buta - N/A: Not on long enough to rate.
Elye Wahi - N/A: Had a shot saved but little time to make a real difference.
Manager
D. Toppmöller - 4.5: His team looked solid for one half and then completely collapsed. He had no answer to Atalanta's tactical switch and intensity after the break. His side looked shell-shocked and disorganized, and the substitutions made zero impact. A very poor second half from a tactical standpoint.

Goalkeeper
Marco Carnesecchi - 7.5: Commanded his area well and made the saves he needed to. He claimed crosses with authority and his distribution was a weapon, even creating a chance. A clean sheet and a performance brimming with confidence. What stood out was his composure throughout the match.
Defenders
Odilon Kossounou - 7.5: A rock at the back. He made six clearances and was composed on the ball, barely putting a foot wrong all game. He looked comfortable against whatever Frankfurt threw at him, which admittedly wasn't much in the second half. A very strong and assured performance.
Isak Hien - 7.5: Another imperious display in the back three. He read the game beautifully, making 9 ball recoveries and a couple of key interceptions. He was physically dominant and snuffed out danger before it could even develop. From our perspective, he was a key part of why Frankfurt's attack was so blunt.
Berat Djimsiti - 7.0: Continued the theme of defensive dominance before his substitution. Strong in the air, winning 80% of his aerial duels, and was tidy in possession. He even forced a save with a header. He played his part in building the platform for the attackers to win the game.

Midfielders
Éderson - 8.5: An absolute engine in the heart of midfield. His goal was the perfect example of his game – a powerful burst from deep to finish a counter-attack. He won the majority of his duels and was a destructive force defensively while also being a huge threat going forward. A complete midfield performance.
Marten de Roon - 8.0: The captain led by example. He was the calm, controlling influence in the middle of the park. His positioning was perfect, breaking up play and recycling possession with incredible efficiency (93% pass accuracy). He was the glue that held the team together, allowing the attacking players to flourish.
Raoul Bellanova - 8.0: A fantastic performance from the wing-back. He was a constant outlet on the right, delivering 9 crosses and creating three chances for his teammates. His delivery was consistently dangerous and he gave the Frankfurt defense nightmares all evening. An excellent attacking display.
Davide Zappacosta - 7.0: Provided good balance on the opposite flank. He was diligent in his defensive duties and supported the attack well, firing in seven crosses of his own. It was a solid, professional performance before he was substituted with the game well in hand. A reliable showing.
Forwards
Gianluca Scamacca - 7.0: He'll be wondering how he didn't score. He was so unlucky to hit the woodwork twice in the first half. Despite the bad luck, he was a real handful, creating a couple of chances and occupying the defenders. His movement created space for others. A good performance, just missing a goal.
Ademola Lookman - 9.0: He was the one who broke the game open. His goal was the catalyst for the victory, and he added an assist to cap a brilliant display. He was a livewire throughout, his movement and direct running causing all sorts of problems. He was unlucky not to score more, hitting the woodwork earlier. Superb.
Charles De Ketelaere - 9.5: Man of the Match, without a shadow of a doubt. This was a sensational, world-class performance. A goal, an assist, four key passes, and five successful dribbles. He was simply unplayable. Everything he did was pure class, and he ran the show from start to finish. A joy to watch.
Substitutes
Nikola Krstovic - 6.5: Came on and looked lively, forcing a good save with a header.
Yunus Musah - 6.0: Helped see the game out in midfield.
Nicola Zalewski - 6.5: Looked sharp on the left, winning a few fouls.
Sead Kolasinac - 6.0: Slotted into the backline seamlessly to preserve the clean sheet.
Manager
R. Palladino - 9.0: A tactical masterclass. He kept his team patient in a frustrating first half and then unleashed them perfectly in the second. His side's ruthlessness in front of goal during that five-minute spell was a reflection of his coaching. He identified Frankfurt's weakness and exploited it brutally. An outstanding away win.
Sportsdunia's Player of the Match goes to Charles De Ketelaere.
