Eintracht Frankfurt Vs Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings: Spurs Secure Comfortable 2-0 Away Win

A thoroughly professional performance from Tottenham Hotspur saw them claim a crucial 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League. The match, held at the Deutsche Bank Park, was controlled by the visitors for large spells. They showed patience and quality when it mattered most. Frankfurt, on the other hand, will be left ruing their missed opportunities.

The game was a tactical affair for the most part. Spurs broke the deadlock shortly after halftime. Randal Kolo Muani found the net with a poacher's finish in the 47th minute. The home side struggled to find a response, though they were desperately unlucky, hitting the woodwork on two separate occasions.

As Frankfurt pushed for an equalizer, Spurs capitalized on the space left behind. Substitute Dominic Solanke sealed the points with a well-taken goal in the 77th minute. This result puts Tottenham Hotspur in a strong position in the league stage. It was a deserved win in this match, built on a solid defensive foundation and clinical finishing.

Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Goalkeeper

Guglielmo Vicario - 6.5: A relatively quiet evening for the Spurs keeper. He was called into action to make one important save from Aurélio Buta in the second half. Picked up a yellow card, presumably for time-wasting, which seemed a bit unnecessary. His distribution was solid enough. Couldn't do anything about the two shots that hit his crossbar.

Defenders

Djed Spence - 6.0: We noticed this was a tough outing for him. He lost possession a staggering 18 times which is just not good enough at this level. Defensively he was okay but offered very little going forward. From our perspective, he looked a yard off the pace and struggled to make an impact on the game.

Cristian Romero - 8.5: An absolutely colossal performance from the captain. This was our Man of the Match, without a doubt. He was a rock at the back, winning all his tackles and dominating in the air. He even got an assist and had a powerful header brilliantly saved. Romero led by example with a commanding and authoritative display.

Kevin Danso - 7.0: A steady and reliable partner for Romero. His pass completion was outstanding, and he provided a crucial cross that almost led to a goal for Randal Kolo Muani. A calm presence on the ball, he did his job effectively without any fuss. A solid, professional outing.

Destiny Udogie - 7.0: Very reliable performance. His 100% pass accuracy is a testament to his composure. He was defensively sound, making three key interceptions to snuff out danger on his flank. Didn't venture forward as much as usual but he didn't need to. He locked down his side of the pitch completely.

Midfielders

João Palhinha - 8.0: The midfield general. He was everywhere, breaking up play with six tackles and controlling the tempo with his crisp passing. Had a header well-saved in the first half. He just makes the game look easy. What stood out to us was how he was always in the right position to intercept or start an attack.

Pape Matar Sarr - 7.5: An all-action display full of energy and drive. He had four shots, constantly looking to threaten the Frankfurt goal from deep. His ball recovery was immense, winning it back seven times for his team. A real engine in the middle of the park, his work rate was phenomenal.

Archie Gray - 7.0: A really mature and tidy performance. He kept possession ticking over with an impressive 98% pass accuracy. He wasn't spectacular, but he didn't need to be. Did the simple things exceptionally well and provided a stable platform for the more creative players to shine. A very composed showing.

Forwards

Wilson Odobert - 7.5: He was electric before his unfortunate injury. Looked like Spurs' most dangerous player in the first half, rattling the crossbar with a superb strike. His direct dribbling caused all sorts of problems for the opposition defence. A real shame his night was cut short just as he was getting into his stride.

Xavi Simons - 8.0: The creative spark for Spurs. He was a nightmare for Frankfurt to handle, drawing five fouls and creating four key passes. He orchestrated the attack with intelligence and flair. While he missed one big chance, his overall contribution to his team's attacking play was immense.

Randal Kolo Muani - 7.5: He got the all-important opening goal with a classic striker's finish. Being in the right place at the right time is a skill. He did miss a couple of other chances, but his movement was a constant threat. Job done for the forward.

Substitutes

Dominic Solanke - 7.5: The perfect impact substitute. Came on, got a chance, and buried it to kill the game off. You simply cannot ask for more than that. His finish was clinical and secured a massive three points for his team on the road.

Manager

T. Frank - 8.0: He got his tactics spot on. His team was defensively solid, controlled the midfield battle, and was clinical when the chances came. The decision to bring on Solanke paid off immediately. An excellent European away performance planned and executed to perfection.

Goalkeeper

Kauã Santos - 6.5: He made a few impressive saves, particularly a fantastic one to deny a Cristian Romero header. However, his distribution was erratic, putting his team under pressure. Conceded two goals where he had little chance, but an error leading to a shot is a major concern. A mixed performance overall.

Defenders

Aurèle Amenda - 6.5: A very busy night for the defender. He made four interceptions and a number of tackles. However, he also looked overwhelmed by the movement of the Spurs attackers. He was part of a defensive unit that never looked truly comfortable and conceded two goals.

Robin Koch - 6.0: As captain, he needed to organize his backline better. They were too passive and allowed Spurs too much time on the ball. He won his aerial duels but struggled to contain the visitors' fluid attack. A difficult evening for the experienced defender.

Arthur Theate - 6.0: He saw a lot of the ball but struggled to use it effectively. Was dribbled past too easily and looked a bit slow to react to danger. The pace and movement of Spurs' front line seemed to give him trouble all night long.

Midfielders

Aurélio Buta - 5.5: A really ineffective performance. He missed a big chance that could have got his team back into the game. Offered very little defensively and was wasteful in possession. A night he will want to forget quickly. Just not involved enough.

Nathaniel Brown - 6.0: He put in a shift but ultimately lacked the quality to make a real difference. He was diligent in his defensive duties before being substituted. A functional performance, but Frankfurt needed more than that.

Hugo Larsson - 6.5: So unlucky to hit the woodwork with a good effort in the first half. A goal there could have changed the entire complexion of the match. Outside of that moment, he was fairly quiet and struggled to get a foothold in the midfield battle against Palhinha.

Ellyes Skhiri - 7.0: Frankfurt's best player on the night. He was the one trying to make things happen, creating two big chances with some incisive through balls. It was a surprise to see him substituted, as he looked the most likely to unlock the Spurs defence.

Oscar Højlund - 6.5: He was energetic and combative, winning all three of his tackles. However, he also committed three fouls, breaking up his team's rhythm. A decent effort but he was ultimately outclassed by the Spurs midfield before being taken off.

Forwards

Mario Götze - 5.5: We expected so much more from a player of his calibre. He was virtually invisible. He had plenty of the ball but his influence was minimal, often choosing the safe pass backwards. A very disappointing and anonymous display.

Ansgar Knauff - 5.0: Our worst performer on the pitch. He was completely ineffective, losing 9 of his 12 duels and constantly losing possession. He offered no attacking threat and was a passenger for the entire game. A truly dreadful performance.

Substitutes

Ritsu Doan - N/A: Brought on with less than 20 minutes to go and couldn't get into the game.
Farès Chaïbi - N/A: Had little time to make any sort of impact on proceedings.
Mahmoud Dahoud - N/A: Came on as part of a triple change but the game was already gone.

Manager

D. Schmitt - 5.0: His team looked second best in every department. There didn't seem to be a clear tactical plan to counter Spurs' strengths. His substitutions were too late to have any meaningful effect. A disappointing night at the office for the Frankfurt boss.
