FC Goa vs Al-Seeb Player Ratings

Summary

  • Drazic and Siverio shine for FC Goa.
  • Sandesh Jhingan and Pol Moreno stand tall in the defence.
  • Nasser Al-Rawahi with the compensatory goal for the Seeb Club.

FC Goa picked up a dominating 2-1 victory over Al-Seeb at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on the 13th August 2025 to create history which will be written in golden words.

It was a shaky start for FC Goa as the Omani side started to attack with the full-backs and pile pressure on the Gaurs. The visitors demonstrated a rather offensive approach, and Goa stood agile in the defence, eliminating the threats one at a time. Later, as the match progressed, just when it felt like Al-Seeb had the momentum of the game, Borja provided a long ball from the defensive half, targeting Drazic, who, in turn, found the back of the net for Goa after chipping the ball towards the open goal to open the accounts for Goa.

In the second half, Siverio doubled the advantage for the hosts off a clinical header. Just a few minutes later the visitors scored with the services of Nasser who provided them with a glimmer of hope. From then on, Al-Seeb were desperately trying all their might to attack, but the Goan defence stood as solid as a boulder and at full time the score was 2-1 in favour of FC Goa, marking a famous victory that will be remembered for ages.

Here are the FC Goa Player Ratings

Goalkeeper

Hrithik Tiwari - 7/10

Hrithik Tiwar had safe hands and was solid at the goal as he punched away the corners and aerial balls that came towards him. During the rare instances when the defence was broken, Hrithik was reliable and denied the opponent's attempts.

Defenders

Boris Singh - 6/10

Handled the attacks of the Omani players and also initiated some attacks for his side. Whenever the player got a chance, he made some counterattacks with his quick runs. Had a tough day and was put to the test on multiple occasions.

Sandesh Jhingan - 8/10

Cleared away the ball whenever it was smelling danger in and around the FC Goa box. Was arguably the best player for FC Goa in the defence and was the key reason why Al-Seeb did not score many goals.

Pol Moreno - 8/10

The Spanish defender came to India with a wealth of experience in his hands and this was instrumental for the Gaurs. Won duels, made interceptions and made excellent recoveries. Combined well with Jhingan and defended rock solid.

Aakash Sangwan - 6.5/10

Read the ball and made timely interceptions when the opposition played the ball inside the 18-yard box. Was exposed to some dangerous situations where he could have done better. But during the crucial moments, Sangwan did not let his team down and defended exceptionally.

Midfielders

David Timor - 7/10

Fired in some blocks when the players took some unexpected shots from distance. Made some timely yet risky challenges to keep the opponents away from his side. Extended his leg to intercept the opponent's moves and looked solid.

Udanta Singh - 6.5/10

Udanta was present at the right place at the right time whenever his team required his presence. Provided some key passes into the final third, provided some crosses and also had a say in the defence too.

Borja Herrera - 7.5/10

Borja was clever and made some overlapping runs beyond the front man to create openings for FC Goa. Provided a beautiful long ball towards the final third to find Drazic, who in turn scored the opener and provided the upper edge for his side. Later, Borja was brilliant and had a pivotal role for his team's win.

Dejan Drazic - 8.5/10

Opened the goal tally for FC Goa in the 23rd minute with his cleverness as he won the all from the keeper who was out of position and chipped the ball to the open goal. Retreated back to the defence to contribute to his team in the back.

Forward

Iker Guarrotxena - 6.5/10

Guarrotxena was the player who put pressure on the opponents and created confusion inside the penalty box. Had a plethora of chances to register his name in the score sheet, but unfortunately, most of his touches were hard and for that reason he was unable to control the ball.

Javier Siverio - 8/10

Siverio had a knack for being in the right place to get to aerial balls and set-pieces, creating opportunities to score. This led to him scoring the second goal for the Gaurs off a header, doubling their advantage. Later, he came so close to scoring but missed by inches.

Here are the Al-Seeb Player Ratings

Goalkeeper

Ahmed Al-Rawahi - 4/10

Rawahi kept his eyes on the ball, was brave and came out of the line to smother the chances of the opponents. Later, he was terrible as two mistakes from his part led to Goa scoring two goals. He was very poor at decision-making, costing his team badly.

Defenders

Ali Al Busaidi - 6.5/10

Busaidi combined very well with Zaher and bolstered the attacks of his side. Conjured some curling free kicks to create tensions for the home side. Assisted the opening goal for his team after a flurry of attempts. The full back was probably the player who drove the attacks of his side from the wings.

Ahmed Al-Khamisi - 5/10

Was decent in the defence, making some blocks and clearances when the opponents created trouble. Was unable to win the aerial duels with Siverio, which backfired.

Mohammed Al-Musalami - 5/10

Musalami cleared away the threats and shadowed Guarrotxena quite well. Moved forward to attack but was unsuccessful in doing so.

Musab Al-Shaqsy - 5/10

Al-Shaqsy was the first player to be penalised for a bad foul, and from then the player avoided taking risks.

Midfielders

Abdullah Fawaz - 5/10

Was passable in the midfield. Had a decent passing accuracy, won some duels and added the work to an extent for the Goan midfielders.

Arshad Al-Alawi - 5/10

Did not create any significant chances for his team and was the first player to be subbed off.

Zaher Al-Aghbari - 6.5/10

Zaher, along with Busaidi, linked up some creative moves and put pressure on the hosts from the wings. Combined well and harassed the Goan players.

Salah Al-Yahyaei - 5/10

Salah entertained the fans with his dancing moves in the penalty box which took down some of the defenders. However, whenever he took shots on target, it was efficiently saved by Hrithik Tiwari.

Nasser Al-Rawahi - 6.5/10

Although Nasser did not have a desirable first half, he proved his worth in the second half by scoring the opening goal for the Seeb Club providing them a glimmer of hope.

Forward

Abdul Aziz Al Maqbali - 5/10

Maqbali took some solid shots at goal but the determined backline of FC Goa denied all of his attempts. Was substitued as he did not contribute much to his team.
