Summary

  • The match ended with a dominant 5-1 victory for Fiorentina.
  • Nicolò Fagioli was the man of the match with a sensational creative performance.
  • Maduka Okoye was the worst performer due to his 7th-minute red card.

It was a day of utter dominance at the Stadio Artemio Franchi as Fiorentina dismantled a struggling Udinese side in a commanding 5-1 victory. The Serie A encounter was effectively decided within the opening ten minutes. The entire complexion of the game changed with a moment of madness from Udinese's goalkeeper.

Maduka Okoye's red card in just the 7th minute for a foul was the trigger for the collapse. It left his team with an overwhelming task. Fiorentina, smelling blood, were absolutely ruthless. They capitalized on their numerical advantage with clinical precision and fluid attacking football that was a joy to watch.

The goals flowed freely, with five different players getting on the scoresheet in a true team performance. Rolando Mandragora opened the scoring, followed by strikes from Albert Gudmundsson and Cher Ndour before halftime. Moise Kean then added a second-half brace to complete the rout against Udinese. The orchestrator of this stunning display was undoubtedly Nicolò Fagioli, whose creative genius was the driving force behind this memorable match. What a way to record their first win of the 2025/26 Serie A campaign, though remain at the bottom of the table. Here are Sportsdunia's Fiorentina vs Udinese player ratings.

Goalkeeper

David de Gea - 6.5: Had very little to do for most of the game, a testament to his team's dominance. He made three saves when called upon, including a good stop in the second half. He couldn't do anything about the superb strike from Oumar Solet. A quiet and comfortable afternoon for the veteran keeper. His distribution was decent enough, helping to start attacks from the back.

Defenders

Dodô - 7.5: A very solid performance from the right-back. He was a constant outlet on the right flank and capped his display with a fine assist for Moise Kean's second goal. He was tidy in possession with a 90% pass accuracy and won most of his duels. What stood out was his energy to get up and down the pitch for the full 90 minutes. Defensively, he was rarely troubled.

Marin Pongracic - 7.0: A composed and assured display at the heart of the defence. He was excellent on the ball, boasting a 96% pass accuracy from 99 passes, which is just incredible. He kept things simple and snuffed out any potential Udinese attacks before they could develop. His reading of the game was first-class, though he had a relatively quiet day. A very professional performance.

Pietro Comuzzo - 7.0: The young defender looked right at home. He was strong in the tackle, winning five of his seven duels, and made an impressive eight clearances. His passing was crisp and confident. From our perspective, it was a mature performance that defied his years. He was substituted late on after a very good shift.

Luca Ranieri - 6.5: A slightly mixed but overall decent game. He was booked in the second half for a clumsy foul. Offensively, he did create one chance and was always looking to support the attack. However, he also lost possession a few times and seemed a bit less composed than his defensive partners. Still a solid part of a defence that was barely threatened.

Midfielders

Rolando Mandragora - 8.0: Got the party started with a beautifully struck free-kick goal. He was a menace throughout his time on the pitch, even hitting the woodwork with another powerful effort. His shooting was a constant threat. He was taken off early in the second half due to an injury, a sad end to what was a fantastic individual display. We noticed his confidence was sky-high today.

Cher Ndour - 7.5: An all-action performance from the midfielder. He capped a fine first half with a well-taken header to make it 3-0. He was physically dominant, winning an impressive six duels and four aerial battles. His engine was relentless, covering ground and contributing in both defence and attack. A really impressive, powerful display.

Nicolò Fagioli - 9.0: Simply sensational. This was a midfield masterclass that completely decided the match. Fagioli was the puppeteer pulling all the strings for Fiorentina. Two official assists don't even tell the full story; he created five chances and three big chances. His vision and the weight of his passes were sublime. He dictated the tempo and Udinese had no answer. The highest rated player and our Man of the Match.

Fabiano Parisi - 8.0: A fantastic outing for the left-sided midfielder before his substitution. He was a creative force, providing the assist for Gudmundsson's goal and creating four chances in total. He was unlucky not to score himself, hitting the post in the second half. His dribbling was a nightmare for the opposition defenders. The yellow card was the only small blemish on an otherwise brilliant performance.

Forwards

Albert Gudmundsson - 8.5: A livewire throughout the match. He scored a brilliant goal from outside the box and also rattled the post with another effort. He was constantly involved, linking up play intelligently and creating two chances for his teammates. His movement and technical skill were a class above. A fantastic attacking display that deservedly gets a high rating.

Moise Kean - 8.5: A classic striker's performance full of highs and some lows. He was in the right place at the right time to bag two well-taken goals. However, he also missed two big chances and could have easily had a hat-trick or more. His seven total shots show his intent. What stood out to us was his persistence; he never let the misses affect him and got his reward. A crucial goalscoring contribution.

Substitutes

Niccolò Fortini - 6.0: Came on for the injured Mandragora and slotted into midfield. Did his job without any fuss as the game was already won.

Christian Kouamé - 6.0: Replaced the brilliant Parisi and kept the pressure on the tired Udinese defence.

Roberto Piccoli - 6.0: Replaced Moise Kean and missed a gilt-edged chance late on. Otherwise, he worked hard.

Mattia Viti - N/A: Came on late with little time to make an impact.

Hans Nicolussi Caviglia - N/A: A late substitute who picked up a yellow card.

Manager

P. Vanoli - 8.0: His team was set up perfectly to exploit the situation. After the red card, he ensured his players were ruthless and professional. The attacking game plan was superb, and his substitutions were managed well to see out the comfortable win. He couldn't have asked for a better performance from his side.

Udinese Player Ratings vs Fiorentina

Check out the Udinese player ratings for the Fiorentina vs Udinese fixture.

Goalkeeper

Maduka Okoye - 2.0: A moment of utter madness that ruined the game for his team. Getting a straight red card just seven minutes in is inexcusable for a goalkeeper. His rash decision left Udinese with an entire mountain to climb with ten men. His actions single-handedly handed the advantage to Fiorentina and earned him the lowest rating on the pitch.

Defenders

Christian Kabasele - 5.0: The unfortunate sacrificial lamb. He only played for 11 minutes before being substituted to bring on the backup goalkeeper after Okoye's red card. Impossible to give a proper rating, but his afternoon was ruined through no fault of his own.

Oumar Solet - 5.5: A very strange game for the centre-back. He scored an absolute screamer of a goal, a real rocket into the top corner. However, he also made an error that led to a goal and was part of a defence that conceded five. He lost a few crucial duels and looked overwhelmed at times, which is understandable. The goal bumps up his score slightly.

Thomas Kristensen - 5.0: It was a torrid afternoon for the entire defence. He made six clearances and a last-man tackle, showing some fight. But he was ultimately part of a backline that was completely torn apart. He struggled to cope with the movement and creativity of the Fiorentina attackers.

Midfielders

Jesper Karlström - 5.0: As the captain, he tried to rally his troops, but it was a losing battle. The midfield was completely overrun, and he spent the entire game chasing shadows. He lost possession nine times and offered little going forward. It was an impossible situation, and he simply couldn't get a foothold in the match.

Nicolò Bertola - 5.5: Showed some fight, making three tackles and clearing a ball off the line. He tried to get involved but was fighting a losing battle against a superior midfield. He was dribbled past three times and struggled to contain the opposition. A battling performance but ultimately ineffective against the onslaught.

Jakub Piotrowski - 6.0: One of the few Udinese players to come away with a little credit. He provided the assist for his team's only goal and created another chance. He worked hard, but lost seven of his duels and was often bypassed in midfield. He kept trying to make things happen, which we have to respect.

Alessandro Zanoli - 5.0: Had a difficult first half before being substituted. He picked up a yellow card and struggled to make any impact on the game. He created two chances but was defensively suspect. A day he'll want to forget quickly.

Forwards

Keinan Davis - 4.5: Completely anonymous up front. He only had 22 touches in 65 minutes and lost possession nine times. He was isolated and starved of service after his team went down to ten men. He just couldn't get into the game at all and offered no threat. A frustrating and fruitless outing.

Nicolò Zaniolo - 5.5: He was substituted at halftime after a quiet first 45 minutes. He tried to be positive, creating two chances and attempting a couple of shots. However, he struggled to get on the ball and influence the game in any meaningful way. The game state just didn't suit him at all.

Jurgen Ekkelenkamp - 5.0: Worked hard with little reward. He completed a couple of dribbles but lost possession 13 times, which is far too high. Like his fellow attackers, he was isolated and unable to impose himself on the match. Substituted after 65 minutes of chasing the ball.

Substitutes

Razvan Sava - 6.0: Thrown into the fire after just 11 minutes. He couldn't do much about the five goals he conceded, as his defence left him brutally exposed. A thankless task.

Hassane Kamara - 5.5: Came on at halftime and had one shot saved, but couldn't stem the tide.

Sandi Lovric - 6.0: Looked tidy when he came on, creating a couple of chances from set-pieces.

Adam Buksa - 5.0: Barely had a kick after coming on.

Idrissa Gueye - 5.5: Drew a couple of fouls but the game was long over.

Manager

K. Runjaic - 4.0: His game plan went out the window after seven minutes. From that point on, it was damage limitation, and his team failed to limit the damage. While the red card wasn't his fault, his side looked disjointed, demoralized, and defensively shambolic. A horrible day for the manager and his team.
