Hoffenheim 0–4 Bayern Munich Player Ratings: The Champions Thrash Hoffenheim with Four Different Scorers
  • After a slow start, Bayern Munich broke the deadlock with a Michael Olise goal. The Frenchman bagged an assist on Kimmich's goal in the second half.
  • Sarge Gnabry scored the 3rd goal of the match before Harry Kane made it 0-4 after coming in as a substitute.
  • The Bavarians thrashed the uninspired Hoffenheim since the early minutes and got themselves a comfortable win.

The Bavarians visited Rehein-Neckar Arena on 17th March, 2025, to go head to head against Hoffenheim in Saturday's match. The match was full of entertainment, with the travelling side scoring 4 times with Olise, Kimmich, Gnabry, and Kane. Read on to see Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich player ratings.

Both teams were eager to get the best out of their opponent from the early minutes. However, even after the 15th minute mark, there was no clear side between the two teams. Tackles started to come in from both sides as both teams strived to gain possession of the ball. Pavel Kaderabek from Hoffenheim conceded the first corner of the game. In the 19th minute, Hoffenheim conceded another corner; this time, it was Alexander Prass. The hosts seem to be unable to get out of the situation as they have conceded corners back-to-back.

In the 20th-minute mark, Bayern Munich missed their first chance while Konrad Laimer's right-footed shot did not hit the mark. A minute later, it was Sarge Gnabry who missed to hit the target as his right-footed shot was just too high from the goal post. Even though Hoffenheim tried their best to put pressure on the travelling team, Bayern held the defense line higher to successfully implement offside traps.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 33rd minute when Michael Olise scored a stunning goal from a free-kick. It was a beautiful goal, and with that, there was pressure on the host.

Hlozek missed a golden opportunity to equalize in the later stages of the first half. His right-footed shot did not see the back of the net in the 38th-minute attempt. In the 45th minute, Thomas Muller had another opportunity to double the lead, but the German star missed his chance. Michael Olise had another opportunity to score, too, but like Muller, he also missed it. The first half ended with a 0-1 score.

The 2nd half began with a substitution from the home side. That did not help as in the 53rd minute Kimmich doubles up the lead with a finish from a unique angle after he was found by Michael Olise's pass.

After the 2nd goal, it seemed like Hoffenheim almost gave up. With the introductions, it was Bayern who still had the upper hand. Chances kept coming, and Harry Kane hit the post with his shot once. It was Gnabry who scored the 3rd goal in the 80th minute, and it was right after the Kane miss. However, that did not stop the Englishman as he added a goal to his tally in the 86th minute of the game. After the full time whistle, it was 0-4.

GK- Oliver Baumann- 5/10

Baumann tried his best to stop the shot from Michael Olise when the Frenchman took the free kick in the 33rd minute. Even though the goalkeeper had a touch on the ball, he could not keep it out.

CB- Arthur Chaves- 4/10

The 3-man defense did not work for the hosts as Arthur Chaves, along with his teammates, could not keep Bayern at bay from scoring. The defender gave the ball away on a lot of occasions.

CB- Leo Skiri Ostigard- 4.5/10

Ostigard was arguably the best defender of the three. Kept his ground well and took on Bayern's attack authoritatively. However, there were a lot of gaps in the 3-man defense, which saw so many goals.

CB- Kevin Akpoguma- 4/10

Just like Chaves, Akpoguma had a horrible game too. Even though he maintained 87% passing accuracy till the 1-hour mark of the game, when it came to both aerial and ground duels, he lost the majority of the battles.

CM- Anton Stach- 4.5/10

Anton Stach maintained 83% passing accuracy till the 60th minute of the game. He won 3 out of his 4 ground duels and all his aerial duels till then. However, he lost possession more than 6 times.

CM- Dennis Geiger- 4/10

Dennis maintained 88% passing accuracy throughout the 60 minutes of the game and has maintained 0.01 xA. However, he failed to have a strong presence in the midfield today.

CM- Alexander Prass- 3.5/10

In today's match, we saw a lot of careless plays from Alexander Prass. From giving away possession to being unable to read the runs of his teammates, he made quite a few mistakes, which led to an early substitution.

CM- Pavel Kaderabeck- 4/10

With 48% passing accuracy around the 70th minute of the game, he arguably had the worst passing rate between the two teams. He failed to rally his team after the first goal. And after Kimmich made it 0-2, it was over for them.

CAM- Tom Bischof- 4.5/10

Just like the rest of the midfielders, Tom had a below-average game today as well. One of the biggest reasons why he failed to create a lot of chances in the game is that he himself had seen fewer balls on his feet.

CAM- Andrej Kramaric- 4/10

The story was the same for Andrej Kramaric, who has seen so less of the ball that his stats of making passes and creating chances are so low. Looking at his previous performances, this one is the worst of them so far.

ST- Adam Hlozek- 5/10

Adam missed a great opportunity to equalize in the later stages of the first half. His right-footed shot did not see the back of the net in the 38th-minute attempt. Considering Hoffenheim saw less possession, it was a golden opportunity before the first half.

Sub- Marius Butler- 4/10

Marius came onto the pitch to replace Prass. Prass had a decent game in the first half, even though he gave away the ball quite a few times. Butler seemed to be a great substitution.

Sub- Bazoumana Toure-4.5/10

Toure came onto the match when his team was already trailing by a 0-2 score. Tried his best to help his team build up, but the inspiration was not there.

Sub- Umut Tohumsu- 4/10

Umut came onto the match in the 78th minute. The manager wanted a couple of fresh legs in the field, which is why he made the introduction.

Sub- Finn Ole Becker- 4/10

Finn came onto the field when his team was trailing by a 0-3 score. By that point, his team had already gave up on the match.

Sub- Ihlas Bebou- 4/10

Bebou came along Finn Ole Becker in the later minutes of the second half. All he needed to do was to see the game off.

Manager- Christian Ilzer- 4/10

Christian Ilzer was the unhappy manager between the two. His tactics seemed to have failed miserably against the travelling team.

Neuer

GK- Manuel Neuer- 6/10

Fans were glad to see Manuel Neuer get back into the game after a long gap. The goalkeeper had a great return given that he had arguably anything to do, especially in the first half when his team was searching for the first goal.

LB- Raphael Guerreiro- 5.5/10

Guerreiro was given the green light to press forward and stay up higher on the pitch in the first half by Kompany. However, whenever he was needed to focus on his defensive duties, he was there to get the job done.

CB- Eric Dier- 5/10

Eric maintained a 0.14 xA in the first half. He made a total of 3 clearances in the first half and won 2 out of his 3 aerial duels. However, what's amazing is that the defender has maintained 100% passing accuracy throughout the first half.

CB- Josip Stanisic- 5/10

Josip had quite an easy game in the first half. Even though he was holding a high line with his defensive partner, Dier, he seemed very sharp in his position. Along with Eric Dier, Josip made sure to plot the offside traps well during counterattacks.

RB- Konrad Laimer- 6/10

Among the defenders, Konrad Laimer was the one who spent the highest amount of time in the other half of the pitch. He took quite a few attempts on the goal and even though he missed a couple of chances, him being on the opposition half was a threat!

CM- Joshua Kimmich- 6.5/10

Kimmich's tactical awareness and game reading are something that gets better every time you see him. The German was crucial in both controlling the tempo of the game while making sure of a smooth transition from defense to attack. Kimmich netted the 2nd goal of the match.

CM- Aleksandar Pavlovic- 5/10

Pavolovic maintained a 92% passing accuracy throughout the first half. Moreover, the midfielder ensured 0.19 xA throughout the 47 minutes he played during the first half. He paired up with Kimmich quite well.

LM- Kingsley Coman- 5.5/10

Even though it was not Coman's standard performance, the Frenchman still had a great game in terms of stats. He maintained 0.03 xA throughout the first half with 93% passing accuracy.

RM- Michael Olise- 7/10

Olise looked very dangerous whenever he had the ball with him. He eventually got his reward from a free-kick in the 33rd minute when the Frenchman scored the first goal of the match with his left foot. He bagged an assist as well.

CAM- Thomas Muller- 5.5/10

Bayern Munich fans will surely miss their star. Like all these years, he had done it, Muller was the veteran player on the pitch. Missed a couple of half chances but the German was influential in his team's build-up.

ST- Sarge Gnabry- 4.5/10

It is disappointing to see Sarge Gnabry in this form. Even though the German had maintained 0.06 xG and 0.07 xA, he was nowhere near how he performed a couple of years back. When will he get his momentum back? He scored the 3rd goal of the match following a miss from Harry Kane.

Sub- Harry Kane- 4.5/10

Harry Kane came to replace Thomas Muller just before the 60th-minute mark. The Englishman had quite a few minutes in his hand to keep his goal tally going. Hit the post with his shot once. Scored the 4th goal of the match.

Sub- Leroy Sane- 4.5/10

Sane came along Harry Kane right before the hour mark. The German winger was introduced to see the game off from the comfortable 0-2 lead.

Sub- Leon Goretzka- 4.5/10

Leon Goretzka came onto the match during the 67th minute to maintain the 2-goal advantage. Bayern's style of play changed a lot with his introduction.

Sub- Sacha Boey- 5/10

Along with Goretzka, we saw the introduction of Sacha Boey. He came to the match to see the game off.

Sub- Gabriel Vidovic- 4/10

Vidovic was the last substitution for Kompany in this game. He was introduced to take off Dier.

Manager- Vincent Kompany- 6/10

Just another day for Vincent Kompany and the Bayern Munich team. Made the right substitutions to keep the team fresh and energetic throughout 90 minutes.

Sportsdunia Man of the Match was Olise.
