Mohun Bagan got the ball rolling in the derby, and an end-to-end attacking performance was seen on display during the initial minutes, with both sides having a good say in the attacking initiatives. However, as the game progressed, it was a one-sided affair with Mohun Bagan dominating the match. In the 23rd minute, Liston won a free kick from a dangerous area, which he dipped over the wall to open the accounts for Mohun Bagan. Just a few minutes ahead of the break, Apuia and Tangva Ragul went into an unwanted argument, which led to Apuia being sent off by the referee and at half-time, the score was 1-0.
In the second half, the absence of Apuia was bleeding Mohun Bagan in the midfield. Lalthankima took a shot from distance, which, though was saved by Kaith, went straight to Alban Koli who tapped in the goal to find the equaliser. Moments later, Liston Colaco made a speedy run and assisted to Suhail who found the back of the net and provided the lead for his team. In the stoppage time of the second half, Liston won a penalty and converted it to mark the final nail in the coffin and at full time the score was 3-1 in favor of Mohun Bagan

Vishal Kaith - 5/10
Vishal Kaith was seen fumbling and looked rusty throughout the match. When the opponents pressed hard, they were able to force errors from the keeper, and this created some trouble for Mohun Bagan.

Made some inverted runs, linked up with Kiyan Nassiri and strengthened the Mohun Bagan attack. Though the player took some attempts at goal, most of them were overhit.

Abhishek fired up the attacks of Mohun Bagan by providing some key passes to the flanks. Even though he went towards the goal, he did not succeed in the attempt.
Anirudh Thapa - 6.5/10
Ventured deep into the attacking third and provided some good crosses. Switched positions with Liston Colaco in regular intervals. In a golden opportunity, Thapa blasted off a shot over the box in a 1v1 situation with the keeper.

Suhail Bhat - 7/10
Suhail was very lively in the opponent box. The player, directly or indirectly, had a role in all the attacking initiatives of Mohun Bagan, but to his disappointment, all the attempts missed the goal by a whisker. In the second half, after multiple attempts, he found the back of the net to provide the lead and double the delight for his team.

Made some exchanges with Thapa and set the tone for the attack. Took a stunning dipping free kick from outside the box to mark the opening goal of the match. Kiyan provided some quality crosses inside the box from the flank to mount pressure upon the opponent's backline. Everything was fine until the player came into the final third, where he struggled.
