  • Luis Enrique's side completed over 650 passes in the game, dominating possession.
  • Bradley Barcola was the Man of the Match with a brace and an assist.

Paris Saint-Germain picked up a dominant 3-0 win over Reims in the Coupe de France final on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Stade de France. A dominant first-half performance saw them score three goals and win their third trophy of the 2024/25 campaign in style. The Paris Saint-Germain vs Reims Player Ratings show how the game unravelled.

The Ligue 1 champions started the game dominantly and refused to give up possession, choking out their opposition with their incisive passing. Their first chance came in the 8th minute when Ousmane Dembele had a volley blocked by some defenders. Desire Doue had a chance to score five minutes later, but saw his effort blaze over the bar.

However, PSG's pressing worked out as they took the lead in the 16th minute when Doue sent Bradley Barcola through on goal, allowing the Frenchman to score past the goalkeeper with ease. Barcola then made it 2-0 in the 19th minute, getting at the end of Doue's perfect pass to score into an empty net. Reims hardly had any chances in the first half, but their full-back Sergio Akieme was able to power his way into the final third, only for his shot to be blocked.

PSG nearly scored the third in the 32nd minute, with Doue having a shot saved and Achraf Hakimi's effort going over the bar. Doue had another effort go wide seven minutes later, before Dembele saw a shot go just wide of the post in the 41st minute. PSG did make it 3-0 in the 43rd minute when Barcola's cross into the far post found Hakimi to put it into the goal to give PSG a resounding lead heading into half-time.

The Ligue 1 champions maintained their possession dominance in the second half as well, with Fabian Ruiz seeing an early effort in the 47th minute being denied. Reims substitute Ange Martial had a shot saved in the 56th minute, while Barcola saw his hat-trick attempt denied two minutes later by the goalkeeper's sharp reflexes. PSG substitute Goncalo Ramos came close to scoring in the 74th minute, having a powerful attempt saved. PSG dominated the latter stages to sail their way to winning the Coupe de France title ahead of their UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan. A menacing and conniving figure down the right flank. He solidly did his defensive job, but was a major threat going forward. Made some brilliant forward runs to create nice chances and put his effort away superbly from close range.

CB - Marquinhos - 7.5/10

The PSG skipper led from the front with his excellent forward passes. He played a key pass to help Doue set up the second goal. Commanded over a sturdy defensive shape and completed 100% of his passes.

CB - William Pacho - 7/10

LB - Nuno Mendes - 6.5/10

The Spaniard was a proactive threat in the midfield, creating several goal-scoring chances with his excellent final third passes. He made several key possession recoveries and drove his side forward in inspired fashion.

LW - Bradley Barcola - 9/10

GK - Yehvann Diouf - 5/10

Diouf could only act as a bystander for most of the game as his backline was sliced open. Couldn't do anything for the first two goals, and couldn't react quickly for the third. Made a few nice saves, but it was a bad day in the office for the goalkeeper.

RB - Hiroki Sekine - 5.5/10

The Japanese defender tried his hardest, winning quite a few duels and making some key tackles to ruin PSG's attacks. But he failed to stop their output from the left and failed to stop Barcola from assisting the third.

CB - Joseph Okumu - 4/10

Okumu made a few nice blocks in the first half, but was outwitted by PSG's passes and movement. Failed to track Barcola's movement for either of his goals and was caught in awkward positions repeatedly.

CB - Cedric Kipre - 4/10

The 28-year-old had a poor outing, failing to hold together a strong enough shape for his defensive line. He was caught out of position for multiple goals, not being able to react quickly enough to stop PSG's advances.

CB - Mory Gbane - 4.5/10

The 24-year-old midfielder had to drop back into a defensive role, but that didn't help things. He did win quite a few duels and won back possession a few times, but his positioning was questionable for a few goals.

LB - Sergio Akieme - 3/10

The Reims left-back had a dreadful outing, with multiple goals coming through his side. Failed to stop Doue from assisting the second, nor could he mark Hakimi for his goal. Failed to react sharply to produce any real defensive numbers.

DM - Amadou Kone - 6/10

Kone tried his best to stop the supply line through midfield by tracking the PSG midfielders' movement well. He made quite a few possession recoveries and some nice tackles, but failed to do anything about PSG dominating the possession.

CM - Valentin Edoa - 7/10

The young midfielder was an energetic presence in the midfield, trying his best to frustrate the opposition midfielders. He won seven duels and made 10 possession recoveries, being a bright spark for his side.

Ito tried his hardest to get things done right, but could only complete seven passes. Helped out defensively but couldn't do enough, failing to stop a lot of crosses.

SUB - Gabriel Moscardo - 6/10

SUB - Oumar Diakhate - 5/10

Failed to make much of an impact going forward. Could not create anything or get any shots on goal.

SUB - Mamdou Diakhon - 5/10

He was only able to complete four passes and lost more duels than he won.

SUB - John Patrick - N/R

The Irishman added some defensive sturdiness to his side, stopping some of PSG's late attacks.

Manager - Samba Diawara - 4/10

Diawara was outwitted tactically by the masterful Enrique. His decision to play a five-man backline backfired as PSG were able to get more space to create chances and outwit his defenders anyway. His side was poor on the transitions and lacked the confidence to take the fight to the giants.

Sportsdunia's Man of the Match goes to Bradley Barcola.
