What an absolutely wild night of Champions League football. We just witnessed a complete and utter demolition as PSV hammered Napoli 6-2 at the Philips Stadion. From our perspective, this was a statement victory for the home side and a night of sheer horror for the visitors. The match started with a glimmer of hope for Napoli. Scott McTominay put them ahead with a well-taken header. But that lead was short-lived. An unfortunate own goal from Alessandro Buongiorno leveled the scores just minutes later and the momentum shifted entirely.

Napoli Vs PSV Player Ratings: PSV Run Riot in a 6-2 Demolition

PSV were simply relentless. They took the lead before half-time and never looked back, piling on the misery in the second half. The game was truly over as a contest when Lorenzo Lucca received a straight red card, leaving his team to face the onslaught with ten men. This match will be remembered for PSV's clinical finishing and Napoli's defensive capitulation.
Napoli Player Ratings vs PSV
Goalkeeper
Vanja Milinković-Savić - 3/10: A truly nightmarish evening for the keeper. He conceded six goals and while he made a few saves he looked completely exposed. What stood out to us was the sheer volume of shots he faced. His confidence seemed to drain with every goal that flew past him. A performance to forget.
Defenders
Alessandro Buongiorno - 2/10: An absolute disasterclass from the defender. The own goal was incredibly unlucky but it completely changed the game's direction. He was responsible for another blocked shot and just looked off the pace all night committing multiple fouls. A brutal outing.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo - 3/10: As the captain he has to take responsibility for this defensive shambles. The backline was disorganized and all at sea. He made an error that led to a shot and lost most of his duels. We expect so much more from a player of his caliber this was a shocking display of leadership.
Sam Beukema - 4/10: Was hooked after just 57 minutes with his team already 3-1 down. He looked overwhelmed by PSV's fluid attack and was dribbled past easily. From our perspective the substitution was a mercy killing. He offered very little protection to his goal.
Leonardo Spinazzola - 5/10: One of the few to offer a spark going forward, providing a great assist for the opening goal. However his defensive contribution was lacking and he picked up a yellow card before being substituted. A mixed performance but he can't be faulted for a lack of effort in the attacking third.

Midfielders
Billy Gilmour - 4.5/10: The game completely passed him by. He was substituted before the hour mark after making an error that led to a shot and losing possession cheaply. We noticed he struggled to get on the ball and dictate play as he usually does. He was simply overrun by the opposition's midfield.
Scott McTominay - 8/10: The sole shining light for Napoli. He scored both of their goals with two excellent headers and fought until the final whistle. He was the only player who looked like he belonged on the pitch for the visitors. Without his goals this would have been even more embarrassing. A heroic effort in a lost cause.
Frank Anguissa - 5.5/10: He put in a shift and won a lot of duels which we have to respect. He tried to impose himself physically on the game. But tactically, he and the entire midfield were outclassed. He lost possession too many times under pressure.
Matteo Politano - 5/10: He was busy and delivered a staggering 10 crosses but the quality was often missing. He lost the ball 13 times and his final product wasn't there. We expected him to create more danger but he was largely ineffective before being subbed.
Forwards
Kevin De Bruyne - 5/10: An incredibly quiet and disappointing performance from one of the world's best. He created one chance but was otherwise a ghost. From our perspective it seemed like he couldn't get into the game at all. His substitution was no surprise as he offered very little threat.
Lorenzo Lucca - 1/10: What can you say. He missed a big chance early on and then got a straight red card for a foolish challenge. His sending-off was the final nail in Napoli's coffin. A genuinely dreadful performance that cost his team any chance of a comeback.

Substitutes
David Neres - 6/10: Came on and provided an assist for McTominay's second goal. Looked lively.
Juan Jesus - 5/10: Replaced Beukema but couldn't stop the bleeding as Napoli conceded three more.
Miguel Gutiérrez - 5/10: Had little impact after coming on.
Noa Lang - 5.5/10: Had a couple of shots but couldn't find the target.
Eljif Elmas - N/A: Came on too late to make a difference.
Manager
A. Conte - 2/10: His team was tactically torn apart. The defensive setup was a catastrophe and they showed no fight after going behind. The red card didn't help but the collapse was already in motion. A humiliating night for the experienced manager.

Goalkeeper
Matej Kovar - 6/10: He conceded two goals but could do little about either of them. What stood out to us was his slightly erratic distribution, losing possession 20 times. However he wasn't tested much beyond the goals. A relatively comfortable night's work all things considered.
Defenders
Anass Salah-Eddine - 6.5/10: A steady performance at the back. He was solid defensively and didn't make any major errors before being substituted late in the game. He won his tackles and kept his flank secure for the most part. A good, disciplined outing.
Yarek Gasiorowski - 5.5/10: Only played the first half and picked up a yellow card. He looked a little bit suspect at times and the manager clearly felt a change was needed. Not a disastrous performance but not a great one either.
Ryan Flamingo - 6.5/10: Dominated in the air, winning six aerial duels. He was a rock at the back for his team. He did miss a big chance from a set-piece but his primary job was defending and he did that well. A very solid performance.
Jerdy Schouten - 7.5/10: Led by example as captain. He was incredibly tidy in possession with 95% pass accuracy and was unlucky not to score, hitting the post. He made crucial tackles and interceptions, marshalling the backline with authority. A captain's performance.

Midfielders
Ivan Perišić - 7/10: A typically industrious performance from the veteran. He contributed at both ends of the pitch winning his duels and playing a part in the team's attacking moves. His experience was evident as he managed the game perfectly. Solid and dependable.
Mauro Júnior - 8/10: A fantastic display from the midfielder. He bagged an assist for the third goal and was a creative force throughout with near-perfect passing. From our perspective he was one of the key players who unlocked the Napoli defence time and time again.
Joey Veerman - 8.5/10: A midfield masterclass. He was the architect of so many PSV attacks, ending the game with an assist and a staggering five chances created. He controlled the tempo of the game completely. We were mesmerized by his range of passing and vision.
Dennis Man - 9.5/10: Our clear Man of the Match. Two well-taken goals and a constant threat to the Napoli backline. He was unplayable. Every time he got the ball he looked dangerous. A performance of the highest quality that lit up the stadium. Simply brilliant.
Forwards
Guus Til - 7.5/10: He worked his socks off for the team. He provided a clever assist for Saibari's goal and was heavily involved in link-up play. He did miss a big chance but his overall contribution was excellent. A tireless and intelligent performance.
Ismael Saibari - 7/10: Scored an important goal to put his side 2-1 up with a great strike. However he also missed a big chance and was sometimes wasteful. He got booked for a clumsy foul. A good performance but with room for improvement.
Substitutes
Ricardo Pepi - 7.5/10: Came on and made an instant impact, scoring a goal and providing an assist. A superb cameo.
Couhaib Driouech - 7/10: Scored a sensational long-range goal shortly after coming on. What an introduction.
Armando Obispo - 6/10: Came on at halftime and helped keep things solid at the back.
Sergiño Dest - 6/10: Provided fresh legs late on.
Paul Wanner - N/A: Not on long enough to rate.
Manager
P. Bosz - 9/10: His tactical plan worked to perfection. His team played with freedom flair and ruthless efficiency. The decision to make a change at halftime paid off and his substitutes made a huge impact. A flawless night for the PSV boss.
