Summary
Spain delivered a performance of pure dominance at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, securing a comfortable 2-0 victory over a beleaguered Georgia. This result solidifies their strong standing in the WC Qualification Europe. From our perspective, the result of this match was never really in doubt once the game kicked off.
The Spanish side controlled the tempo from the first whistle, suffocating Georgia with relentless pressure and fluid passing. It felt inevitable when Yéremy Pino bundled the ball home in the 24th minute to open the scoring. Georgia had a glimmer of hope when goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili produced a fantastic penalty save to deny Ferran Torres, a moment of pure individual brilliance. However, it only delayed the inevitable.
Spain continued to create chance after chance, with Pedro Porro even rattling the crossbar in the second half. The game was put to bed by a superb free-kick from Mikel Oyarzabal in the 64th minute. While Georgia fought hard, they were simply outclassed in every department by a superior Spanish outfit.

Goalkeeper
Giorgi Mamardashvili - 7.5: What stood out to us was his heroic penalty save against Torres. That moment alone was world-class. He made several other key saves to keep the scoreline respectable. Without him, this could have been a much heavier defeat for Georgia. He was decisive and commanded his box well despite the pressure. A truly valiant effort in a losing cause.
Defenders
Otar Kakabadze - 5.5: A very difficult evening for the defender. He was constantly under pressure from Spain's wingers and struggled to cope. Lost the majority of his duels and his passing was often wayward. He put in the effort but was simply overwhelmed by the quality of the opposition. Substituted after 80 tough minutes.
Lasha Dvali - 6.5: From our perspective, he was one of Georgia's better defenders. He made a number of crucial blocks and clearances to deny Spain. He stood tall and threw his body on the line multiple times. Despite conceding two goals, Dvali can hold his head relatively high after a busy and challenging night.
Guram Kashia - 6.0: The captain tried to organize his backline against a relentless Spanish attack. He made a handful of important clearances. However, the defence he led was breached too easily on several occasions. A standard, if uninspiring, performance under immense pressure.
Saba Goglichidze - 6.0: Similar to his defensive partners, he had his hands full all evening. He made six clearances and worked hard to track runners. However, he offered little going forward and struggled to contain Spain's fluid movement. A tough learning experience for the defender.
Giorgi Gocholeishvili - 6.0: Showed some attacking intent, even forcing a good save from Simón with a long-range shot. Defensively, however he was often exposed. He lost possession a few too many times in dangerous areas. A mixed performance that highlighted both his potential and his vulnerabilities.

Midfielders
Giorgi Kochorashvili - 7.0: Georgia's standout outfield player. What stood out to us was his incredible tenacity, winning 10 of his 12 duels and drawing six fouls. He was a constant nuisance in the midfield, breaking up play and trying to drive his team forward. A true warrior's performance, fighting a losing battle with immense spirit.
Anzor Mekvabishvili - 6.5: A solid and combative display in the middle of the park. He put in several important tackles and fought hard for every ball. His work rate was commendable, providing a necessary shield for his defence. He did his job without much fuss, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide.
Otar Kiteishvili - 5.0: We were personally disappointed by his lack of impact. He was largely anonymous in midfield, losing seven of his eight duels. He couldn't get a foothold in the game and was rightly substituted in the second half. A performance to forget for the midfielder.
Forwards
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - 4.5: A shockingly quiet and ineffective performance from Georgia's star player. He was completely nullified by the Spanish defence, losing possession 10 times and failing to create anything of note. He looked frustrated and isolated, a shadow of the player we know he can be. A genuine contender for the worst performer on the pitch.
Georges Mikautadze - 5.5: He worked hard up front but was starved of service. He showed some good hold-up play at times but was ultimately fighting a losing battle against a dominant Spanish defence. He was unable to make any significant impact before being substituted.

Manager
W. Sagnol - 5.0: His team was set up to defend, but they couldn't contain Spain's attacking prowess. His star player, Kvaratskhelia, was completely ineffective, suggesting a tactical failure. While his side showed fight, they were comprehensively outplayed and out-thought. He had no real answer to Spain's dominance.

Goalkeeper
Unai Simón - 6.5: Had very little to do for most of the match. He made one good save from a long-range effort in the second half. His distribution was perfect, completing all of his passes. It’s hard to rate a keeper who was a spectator, but he did his job when called upon.
Defenders
Pedro Porro - 9.0: An absolutely phenomenal performance and our Man of the Match. He was a constant threat down the right flank, creating an incredible six chances. He was unlucky not to score, hitting the crossbar with a powerful shot. His delivery was exceptional all game. The yellow card was the only minor blemish on a near-perfect display.
Robin Le Normand - 8.0: A commanding performance at the back. He was strong in the air and composed on the ball, boasting a 97% pass accuracy. He even chipped in with an assist and created a big chance. A rock-solid display from the central defender.
Pau Cubarsí - 7.5: Incredibly cool and composed for such a young player. His 99% pass accuracy from 117 passes is simply astounding. He read the game beautifully and never looked flustered. A mature performance that belies his age.
Marc Cucurella - 7.5: A typically energetic and reliable performance. He was solid defensively, winning all of his duels, and contributed well to the attack, creating two chances. He balanced his duties perfectly, providing width while remaining defensively secure. Another strong showing.

Midfielders
Martín Zubimendi - 8.5: The master of the midfield. He completely dominated the center of the park, winning all seven of his duels and making crucial interceptions. His passing was incisive, and he controlled the tempo of the game effortlessly. An outstanding performance that was central to Spain's dominance.
Pedri - 8.0: The creative genius at the heart of everything Spain did well. He floated around the pitch, picking pockets of space and threading beautiful passes. With five key passes, he was the primary architect of Spain's attacks before his substitution. A joy to watch.
Mikel Merino - 6.5: A very frustrating night for him. He got into great positions but was incredibly wasteful, missing two big chances and firing several shots off target. He worked hard and won his share of duels, but his lack of composure in front of goal was glaring. Could have had a hat-trick on another day.
Forwards
Ferran Torres - 6.0: An enigmatic performance. He did well to win the penalty, but the subsequent miss seemed to weigh on him. He missed a couple of other big chances and looked visibly frustrated. While his movement was good, his end product was sorely lacking.
Yéremy Pino - 7.5: Got the all-important opening goal with a poacher's finish. He was lively and dangerous until he was substituted. He also created a big chance for his teammates. A very effective performance that set Spain on their way to victory.
Mikel Oyarzabal - 8.0: Scored a wonderful free-kick to seal the win. However, it was a strange game for him as he also missed three big chances. The quality of the goal elevates his rating significantly. A clinical finish paired with some wasteful moments.
Manager
L. De la Fuente Castillo - 8.0: His game plan worked to perfection. Spain dominated possession, created numerous chances, and were defensively solid. His team selection was justified, and his substitutions were managed well. A straightforward and successful night at the office for the Spanish manager.
