Strasbourg 2-0 Lille Player Ratings: Emegha Rated 9/10 as His Brace Secures 2-0 Victory

Strasbourg Vs Lille Player Ratings

Summary

  • Strasbourg overtook Lille in the table as they defeated them in the Ligue 1 fixture.
  • Emegha was the best player on the field

What a performance from Strasbourg. They completely controlled the Ligue 1 encounter against LOSC Lille, securing a deserved 2-0 win. From our perspective, Lille never really got into the game. They looked disjointed and were second-best all over the pitch.

The star of the show was undoubtedly Emanuel Emegha. His two goals were the clear difference between the sides. The first was a clinical finish assisted by a brilliant pass from Diego Moreira, and the second sealed the deal. It was a classic striker's performance that tormented the Lille defence all afternoon.

What stood out to us was Lille's lack of fight. We expected a much tougher battle, but they were undone by their own mistakes. A shocking error from Olivier Giroud was particularly costly. This match will be remembered as a tactical masterclass from Strasbourg and a day to forget for Lille.

Strasbourg Player Ratings vs LOSC Lille

Here are Strasbourg Player Ratings vs Lille

Goalkeeper

Mike Penders - 7.5: A very confident display from the keeper. He made four saves and they all looked comfortable. What we noticed was his command of the box and his distribution was quick and effective, helping launch counter-attacks. A well-earned clean sheet for his efforts.

Defenders

Ben Chilwell - 7.0: A really solid outing. He was strong in the tackle and won almost all his duels, which is exactly what you want from your full-back. The yellow card was a slight blemish, but he never let it affect his aggression. He made four crucial clearances and was a dependable presence.

Mamadou Sarr - 7.0: Composure personified at the back. With a 96% pass accuracy, he was incredibly tidy in possession, refusing to just hoof it clear. He read the game well, making a key interception and was a big reason Lille's forwards had such a frustrating day. Looked like a veteran.

Lucas Høgsberg - 7.0: Much like his defensive partner, he was calm and collected. Won every single tackle he went in for, showing perfect timing. From our perspective, his positioning was spot on, and he helped keep the defensive line incredibly organised throughout the match.

Midfielders

Diego Moreira - 8.0: A fantastic performance until his unfortunate injury. He provided the brilliant assist for the opening goal, creating a big chance out of nothing. We noticed his movement was a constant problem for the Lille defence. He was on track to be man of the match before he was substituted.

Guéla Doué - 6.5: A tireless worker in the engine room. He did a lot of the dirty work that often goes unnoticed, making five recoveries. His passing was mostly neat, but he did lose the ball a few too many times for a higher rating. A solid, if unspectacular, shift.

Valentín Barco - 7.5: What a livewire. He was desperately unlucky not to score, with his powerful shot rattling the crossbar. He was everywhere winning an impressive nine duels and drawing four fouls, constantly disrupting Lille's rhythm. A really energetic and impactful display.

Abdoul Ouattara - 7.0: The metronome in midfield. His 96% pass accuracy tells you everything you need to know. He kept possession ticking over beautifully, relieving pressure and building attacks from deep. A quiet but exceptionally effective performance.

Forwards

Emanuel Emegha - 9.0: The undisputed Man of the Match and the highest-rated player. Two goals from his three shots tell the story of his clinical finishing. He led the line perfectly, held the ball up, and was simply too much for the opposition defenders. This was a masterclass in center-forward play.

Joaquín Panichelli - 6.0: He certainly worked hard, but the quality wasn't quite there. His pass accuracy was poor, and he lost possession far too often. The yellow card was born out of frustration. You can't fault the effort but he needed more composure on the ball.

Julio Enciso - 6.5: A frustrating player to watch sometimes. He did well to draw three fouls and showed some nice touches but his final product was lacking. He worked hard for the team, but we expected a bit more creativity from him in the final third. The booking was a bit silly.

Substitutes

Rabby Nzingoula, Samir El Mourabet, Martial Godo, Andrew Omobamidele - N/A: None of the substitutes had enough time or opportunity to make a significant impact on a game that was already won.

Manager

L. Rosenior - 8.0: His game plan was executed to perfection. He set his team up to be defensively solid and clinical on the break, and it worked like a charm. He identified Lille's weaknesses and exploited them ruthlessly. An excellent tactical victory for the gaffer.

Here are Lille Player Ratings vs Strasbourg

Goalkeeper

Berke Özer - 5.5: A tough day for the keeper. He conceded two goals and didn't have much of a chance with either. His distribution was okay, but he looked a little shaky. Couldn't do much, but also didn't inspire much confidence from our view.

Defenders

Nathan Ngoy - 5.0: A day of what-ifs for the defender. He made an error that led to a shot and also missed a big chance to score himself. While he did hit the woodwork, his defensive performance was suspect. He was part of a backline that just couldn't handle Emegha.

Thomas Meunier - 5.5: We expected more from a player of his experience. He struggled to contain Strasbourg's attacks down his flank and lost possession 16 times. He tried to get forward but his efforts were largely ineffective. A disappointing performance overall.

Romain Perraud - 5.0: It was a very difficult outing for him. He was dribbled past three times and seemed off the pace. The yellow card he picked up was a result of his struggles. He was eventually substituted after failing to make any positive impact on the match.

Aïssa Mandi - 6.0: Probably the best of a bad bunch at the back. His passing was tidy, and he tried to build from defense. However, he was still part of a unit that was comprehensively beaten. He made a couple of important tackles but couldn't organize the chaos around him.

Midfielders

Matias Fernandez-Pardo - 5.5: Almost anonymous. He struggled to get into the game and was rightly substituted after 64 minutes. He lost possession 12 times and his influence was minimal. A learning experience for the young midfielder.

Hákon Arnar Haraldsson - 6.0: He was one of the few Lille players who looked like he might create something. He had two shots on target, but ultimately lost the majority of his duels. A lot of effort without any real end product to show for it.

Benjamin André - 6.0: The captain tried his best to drag his team into the game. He battled hard in midfield, winning seven duels. But he was fighting a losing battle against a superior Strasbourg midfield. Couldn't impose his will on the proceedings.

Félix Correia - 5.5: Another player who was just not at the races. He lost possession 14 times and created very little. It was no surprise to see him substituted. Looked completely out of his depth in this match.

Ayyoub Bouaddi - 5.5: A quiet and forgettable performance. He kept his passing simple and didn't make any major errors, but he also offered nothing going forward. The game largely passed him by before he was taken off.

Forwards

Olivier Giroud - 4.5: A disastrous performance from the veteran striker. His error leading to a goal was a catastrophic moment that killed any momentum for his team. Beyond that, he was isolated and ineffective up front. Easily the worst performer on the pitch.

Substitutes

Hamza Igamane, Marius Broholm, Osame Sahraoui - N/A: Brought on to change the game, but they couldn't turn the tide. The match was already lost by the time they entered the fray.

Manager

B. Génésio - 5.0: He got his tactics completely wrong. His team looked vulnerable at the back and toothless in attack. The decision to start with this formation and personnel backfired spectacularly. He was thoroughly out-managed by his opposite number.
