Sunderland Player Ratings vs Tottenham Hotspur

Here are the Sunderland player ratings vs Tottenham Hotspur.

Goalkeeper

Robin Roefs - 8.5: What a performance from the man between the sticks. From our perspective, he was the clear man of the match. Roefs made an incredible seven saves to keep a crucial clean sheet. Six of those saves were from shots inside the box, highlighting his sharp reflexes and bravery. He commanded his area with authority and his distribution was solid, finding his man 40% of the time with long balls. Without him, the result of this match would have been very different. An outstanding and match-winning display.

Defenders

Luke O'Nien - 7.0: A really solid and dependable performance at the back from O'Nien. We noticed he was calm under pressure, racking up six important clearances. His passing was impressively accurate at 90%, helping Sunderland build from the back. He won half of his duels and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. A composed and effective outing for the defender.

Omar Alderete - 7.0: Alderete put in a strong shift in central defense. He was a key part of the resilient backline, contributing four clearances and two crucial interceptions. He was comfortable on the ball, attempting eight long passes to switch the play. While he lost a couple of duels, his positioning was generally very good. He played his part in securing the clean sheet and the win.

Reinildo Mandava - 7.5: We thought Reinildo was a beast defensively. He was immense, winning an incredible nine out of twelve duels. He was a tackling machine, winning all three of his attempted tackles, and also made three interceptions. His energy down the left flank was relentless, and he was a constant thorn in the side of the Spurs attack. A truly dominant defensive display.

Nordi Mukiele - 7.5: The match-winner. Mukiele will grab the headlines for his decisive goal, a well-taken strike that sealed the three points. But his contribution was more than just the goal. Defensively, he was superb, winning all four of his tackles. He was a threat going forward with his crosses but was also solid at the back. He did miss a big chance, but his goal more than made up for it.

Midfielders

Chris Rigg - 6.0: It was a difficult afternoon for the young midfielder. Rigg struggled to get into the game and his passing was uncharacteristically sloppy, with only 52% accuracy. He lost possession 13 times and picked up a yellow card for a late challenge. He worked hard but it just wasn't his day. A learning experience for him in a tough Premier League encounter.

Habib Diarra - 7.0: A very effective performance from Diarra in the middle of the park. He provided the crucial assist for Mukiele's goal with a smart key pass. He was neat and tidy in possession, completing 86% of his passes. He also drew two fouls, helping to relieve pressure on his team. A disciplined and creative outing that made a real difference.

Noah Sadiki - 7.0: Sadiki had a really positive impact on the game. What stood out to us were his two key passes, showing his vision and creativity. He should have scored, though, missing a big chance that could have made the win more comfortable. He was strong in the duel, winning five of his eight battles, and drove forward well with the ball. An all-action midfield display.

Enzo Le Fée - 7.0: Le Fée was the creative spark in Sunderland's midfield. We were impressed by his ability to unlock the opposition defence, creating two big chances for his teammates. He was always looking for a forward pass and made two key passes during the game. He also did his defensive duties, making two interceptions and winning the majority of his duels. A classy and influential performance.

Granit Xhaka - 7.5: The captain led by example with a commanding midfield performance. Xhaka was everywhere, breaking up play with five tackles and winning eight duels. He controlled the tempo of the game with his passing, making 16 passes into the final third. He was the engine room for his team, combining defensive grit with forward-thinking play. A true captain's knock.

Forwards

Brian Brobbey - 6.0: A frustrating day at the office for the striker. Brobbey worked hard but nothing seemed to fall for him. He missed a big chance that he would have expected to score and was often isolated upfront. He struggled physically, winning only four of his 16 duels, and lost possession ten times. It was a tough afternoon against a physical defence.

Manager

R. Le Bris - 7.5: The manager got his tactics spot on. He set his team up to be defensively solid and hard to break down, which worked perfectly. His side was organized, disciplined, and clinical when their big moment arrived. It was a classic smash-and-grab win, and he deserves immense credit for masterminding the victory against a strong Tottenham Hotspur side at the Stadium of Light.

Goalkeeper

Antonín Kinský - 6.5: There wasn't much Kinský could do about the goal he conceded. He only faced two shots on target all game and made one save. His distribution was decent, but he was ultimately a bystander for large parts of the match. A quiet day that ended in defeat, which is always tough for a keeper. He didn't make any errors, but couldn't be the hero either.

Defenders

Destiny Udogie - 6.5: An average performance from Udogie. He was solid enough defensively, winning most of his duels and making a few clearances. However, going forward, he offered very little, with only one of his five crosses finding a teammate. In a game where the Spurs needed creativity from wide areas, he was a bit too reserved. Not a bad game, but not an impactful one.

Cristian Romero - 7.0: Romero was a warrior at the back as usual. He won eight of his eleven duels and made two tackles and two interceptions. The Argentine defender was aggressive and committed, though it earned him a yellow card. He was one of the few Spurs players who looked up to the fight. It's a shame his attacking teammates couldn't match his intensity.

Pedro Porro - 7.5: From our perspective, Porro was Tottenham's best player. Playing from defence, he was their most dangerous attacking threat, which says a lot. He had three shots on target and created three chances for his teammates. His delivery from wide was excellent, and he constantly tried to make things happen. He was the one spark in a blunt attacking performance.

Micky van de Ven - 6.5: A very tidy game on the ball from the Dutchman, with a 96% pass accuracy. However, he was part of a defence that conceded and couldn't keep a clean sheet. He was solid but unspectacular, not really making any standout defensive contributions besides a few clearances. Picked up a yellow card and didn't have the commanding presence Spurs needed.

Midfielders

Richarlison - 6.5: Richarlison had a couple of shots on goal but never really looked like scoring. He was full of running, but his end product was lacking. He lost possession 16 times, which is far too high for a player in his position. He just couldn't seem to make the ball stick and was eventually substituted after a fruitless hour.

Archie Gray - 6.5: Gray kept the ball moving with a 90% pass accuracy, but his performance was very safe. He didn't take any risks or provide any creative spark from midfield. He made three interceptions, showing good defensive awareness. But Tottenham needed more penetration and drive from their midfield, which he failed to provide.

Lucas Bergvall - 5.5: A day to forget for Bergvall, who we felt was the worst performer on the pitch. He gave away four fouls and looked completely off the pace of the game. He barely touched the ball and lost possession on the rare occasions he had it. A really poor and ineffective performance that saw him hooked after just an hour.

Conor Gallagher - 6.5: As always, Gallagher's work rate could not be faulted. He ran his socks off and was busy in the middle of the park. However, it was a lot of energy for little reward. He was neat in possession but didn't create anything of note. It was a typical Gallagher performance: full of industry but lacking in genuine quality in the final third.

Randal Kolo Muani - 6.0: A really wasteful and frustrating performance from Kolo Muani. He attempted five dribbles but only succeeded with one, and he lost possession a staggering 15 times. His decision-making was poor, and he offered little threat. He did provide two key passes, but his overall contribution was negative. A disappointing showing.

Forwards

Dominic Solanke - 6.5: Solanke had the chances to be a hero but couldn't take them. He had four shots but missed a big chance that could have changed the game. He held the ball up reasonably well but was ultimately not clinical enough in front of goal. On another day, he might have had a brace, but today his finishing let him down.

Manager

R. De Zerbi - 6.0: A frustrating afternoon for the Spurs boss. His team had plenty of the ball and got into some good positions but lacked the cutting edge to score. They looked predictable in attack and struggled to break down a well-drilled Sunderland defence. He will be disappointed that his side couldn't find a way to get at least a point from this match.
