Thailand 2–0 India Player Ratings: Thailand with a Comfortable Win Over India to Keep Their Unbeaten Streak Alive

7 min
Thailand vs India Player Ratings
  • Ben Davis with his fourth goal in his seventh appearance.
  • Anuin stands as an obstacle to the Indian team's attempt.
  • Vishal Kaith once again fail to impress.

The 99th placed Thailand Football team face off against the 127th placed Indian Football Team for the International Friendlies ahead of their AFC Asian Qualifiers after almost half a decade.

India initiated the proceedings and Thailand, from the very initial minute started to attack from the wings aggressively which made the Indian National Team struggle. In the 8th minute, Tasa had the ball in the right wing and the Indian players were too much focused on the player that they failed to mark Ben Davis. Tasa who saw this opportunity passed the ball to Ben who inturn took a powerful shot which found the back of the net providing the hosts a lead. The first half continured with both teams attempting to make attacks, but the backline stood like a wall. India got a couple of Chances from the services of Chhetri, Liston and Ashique but all of these attempts were somehow stopped by the keeper.

In the second half it felt like India were a bit better but they kept on losing possession. One such opportunity was capitalised by Arjvirai who won the ball, made a run and took a shot from outside the box to double the delight for the hosts. Later on the game dominated in midfield and both the teams did not create much impact in the attack and at full time the score was 2-0 for Thailand.

Goalkeeper

Vishal Kaith - 5/10

Did not have much of a role to prevent the first goal. Later on it felt like the player lacked confidence. Was seen fumbling while clearing the balls which could have turned costly. Had a below average passing accuracy and most of the long balls made went to vain. Had a bad positioning for the second goal and could have done better.

Defenders

Ashish Rai - 6/10

Did a good job in winning back possession and cutting the ball multiple times. Was seen struggling in a few instances to properly shadow the opponent winger.

Anwar Ali - 7/10

Made some critical interventions off the attacks made by Thailand in quick successions. Was the last man to defend when the Thai players went past all the men in orange.

Sandesh Jhingan - 6/10

Left some space in the backline and was a bit off-guarded which led to Thailand scoring their first goal. However his rocky presence later on turned out to be pivotal for India.

Abhishek Singh - 6/10

Beautifully recovered the ball when Thailand tried to attack from the wings. Paired with Liston and contributed to the attacks quite frequently. Attempted some shots but all of them went wide

Liston Colaco - 7/10

Was essentially the playmaker for the visitors. Exceptionally excecuted the set pieces, provided some accurate through balls, set the ball multiple times inside the box. Had a 1v1 with the keeper in the dying seconds of the first half, which to his dismay was stopped by the keeper.

Ashique Kuruniyan - 6.5/10
