You Can Play Battlefield 6 For Free Ahead of Season 2 in Nightfall Update; But How?

Battlefield 6 is introducing a limited-time multiplayer trial tied to its next seasonal update. The event lets players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S access selected multiplayer maps and modes without purchasing the full game, providing a brief preview of upcoming seasonal content.

Battlefield 6 Free Weekend Event

Publisher Electronic Arts confirmed that the Battlefield 6 free weekend will run from March 17 (5 a.m. PT / 8 a.m. ET) to March 24. Across one week, players can experience four maps and six multiplayer modes, offering a compact preview of the game’s core combat systems as Season 2: Nightfall launches.

Hagental Base and Nightfall Mode

The 2nd season of the game adds two new features: the Hagental Base battlefield and a temporary Nightfall playlist. The map has a darkened version, reducing visibility to extreme levels. Teams must use night-vision goggles and incendiary grenades while coordinating their combat operations.

The Nightfall matches feature three game modes, which include Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch and Domination, all of which take place on the nighttime version of Hagental Base.

Multiplayer Playlists Available in the Trial

A free weekend of Battlefield 6 will include the multiplayer playlist mode consisting of three rotations.

• Nightfall Playlist: Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, on the Hagental base map at night.
• All-Out Warfare: The core Battlefield modes-Capture, Breakthrough, and Escalation-take the players to the maps Eastwood, Mirak Valley, Contaminated, and Hagental Base.
• Casual Breakthrough: An initial mix-list of real players and AI Bots in a mash-up at Contaminated, Eastwood, and Hagental Base.

Progress and Unlocks

Players who complete the Battlefield 6 March free week will keep their earned ranks, weapon unlocks and customizations, which will transfer to the full Battlefield 6 game after the players decide to purchase it.
