Battlefield 6 Season 2 Release Date Faces delay with EA extending the current season

In an unfortunate twist of events, the Battlefield 6 Season 2 Release Date has been delayed by DICE. Even though there’s no major reason for that, sources suggest that the people behind it wanted to introduce a more polished and quality content for the community to cherish. As of now, Season 2 is scheduled to deploy on Feb 17, 2026.

Recently, a seven-second teaser was featured on the official Battlefield X account, revealing a character wearing a gas mask, hinting at the next season. Originally scheduled to go live this month on January 20, Battlefield 6 Season 2 got a new delay with an extension to the ongoing season. Besides the extension, EA also announced a bunch of new content for the upcoming months, including:

• Frostfire Bonus Path (January 27, 2026)
• Continued progression of the existing Battle Pass
• New weekly challenges
• Valentine's Day event
• Daily Login rewards and Double XP weekends

Based on sources, the new Frostfire Bonus path will include in-game rewards, such as a vehicle skin, Hardware XP boost, player cards, and a bunch of customization options. Why did the Battlefield 6 Season 2 delay happen?

As people say, good things take time. And it seems EA has exactly taken that route with its latest Battlefield title.
