Here's everything you need to know about the Battlefield 6 winter update:

Audio Upgrades

The audio work that players tested in the recent Battlefield Labs session is now ready for everyone. The audio for footsteps has been re-balanced and is now much easier to 'read' regardless of the type of terrain you are on, and this will be especially useful when you are in tense situations in close-quarters combat.

Audio for combat and vehicles has also been prioritised to help players better identify which sounds indicate danger, allowing them to focus on the most important audio cues. Finally, the team continues to work on addressing the issue where some sounds do not play back on larger maps.

Improvements to Rush and Breakthrough

Rush and Breakthrough are getting significant balance updates to rectify unbalanced matches. In particular, Siege of Cairo adds two additional tanks for attackers in both sectors 1 & 3, as well as a new capture zone on B, which has been changed to minimise lockouts for defenders.

Attackers on Rush will also receive some slight assistance, based on how the M-COMs have been arranged at the Manhattan Bridge and Liberation Peak maps. The complete patch notes for the Battlefield 6 Winter Offensive Update 2025 will include all spawn point changes for each map.

Hit Registration and Damage Clarity

The studio continues its work on reliability across the board. Hit registration improvements have been made again, following testing of the previous version during this season.

The feedback players receive when they hit their target has also been improved to be more timely and accurate. Improved visibility for players has been implemented in dark areas, low-contrast areas, and areas where soldiers are hard to see when they are standing up properly. These changes will enable you to complete the Battlefield 6 Red Bull Challenges.

Weapon Handling Updates

A new weapon balance pass includes changes aimed at smoothing out handling. This covers recoil behaviour, stability and consistency during extended gunfights. Additionally, the studio has indicated that it will continue to focus on improving the weapon's feel with future updates.

Redsec Tuning

The battle royale game mode, known as "Redsec," is being tuned based on the player community. Tanks will spawn less often to prevent them from dominating mid-game engagements. More updates on these changes will come further down the line.

Battlefield 6 Winter Offensive Update 2025 (version 1.1.3.0) launches December 9 on all platforms. More detailed patch notes will be released shortly before rollout.
