A Unveil $1M Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series, Setting a New Benchmark for Competitive Shooter Esports

Electronic Arts has officially entered the esports arena with Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series 2025, a substantial competitive push centred around RedSec, the free-to-play battle royale mode associated with Battlefield 6.

With over $1 million in prize pool money spread across three regions, plus a community-driven Open Series to accompany the big event, EA is declaring REDSEC as the franchise's most ambitious esports initiative to date.

Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series 2025 Explained

The timing for this new circuit couldn't be better. REDSEC has already generated noise with its fast-paced Battle Royale modes, knockout-styled Gauntlet mode, and creator tools for Portal. Now EA can capitalise on that momentum and design a fully competitive ecosystem.

The Elite Series is an esports tournament featuring 50 invited team captains per region for all of the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Each team captain drafts a 4-player team, forming a field of 600 players full of the best of the best in the Battlefield community and some of the top FPS competitors in the world.

The tournament structure consists of six Battle Royal Matches as well as a Gauntlet Finale, where the top eight squads from each day of match play will compete in an elimination format with high pressure. Each team receives points across three Qualifying Match Days. The top 25 squads from each region will move on to the Season Finals on December 18.

Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series Prize Pool

EA has locked in an enormous Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series Prize Pool for Season 1 that looks like this:

• Americas: $50,000 per Qualifier + $500,000 Finals
• EMEA: $20,000 per Qualifier + $285,000 Finals
• APAC: $20,000 per Qualifier + $285,000 Finals

All matches will take place online via high-performance servers that are actively monitored by the Javelin anti-cheat system. Teams will stream their games on every Match Qualifying Day, while EA will host the official broadcast for the Finals event.

What is Battlefield REDSEC Open Series

Competitive Battlefield will not just be limited to invited pros. The Open Series is designed for anyone and everyone in the three regions aiming to climb the ladder. If you are also considering making your mark in the competitive gaming scene with REDSEC, then it would be best for you to check the best Battlefield REDSEC settings.

Players will sign up through Repeat.gg, play 10 Battle Royale matches and 10 Gauntlet matches through three match days, and try to end up in the top 250 of those teams. That top 250 will qualify for the Open Series Finals on January 17, 2026. The top eight teams from the Open Series Finals will receive a direct invite into the next season of the Elite Series.

Each region will have $10,000 available for the Open Finals. This offers a way for casual squads to break into the upper tier, an opportunity that the Battlefield esports scene has not provided yet.
