The last big patch, version 4.0, launched on September 11, 2025, introducing new features, events, and technical improvements. Based on that timeline, players can expect the next update to be released in mid-to-late November.

Krafton has also posted an official preview video for the version 4.1 update on their official YouTube channel. The preview video revealed some of the latest features, themed modes, and Royal Pass that will be introduced in the game following the update. The rollout will likely happen in stages, with Android devices getting the update first, followed by iOS. Once released, players will be able to download it directly through the Play Store or App Store, depending on their platform.

BGMI 4.1 Update: New Map Features

The BGMI 4.1 update is shaping up to be an exciting one because it will bring a winter-themed experience just in time for the season. The battlegrounds are also expected to transform with snowy landscapes, frosty weather effects, and icy map details that will give familiar areas a new look. The details of the new features and weapons that could be seen in the preview video are as follows:

• Penguin Town Hot Drop: There will be a new drop in Erangel called Penguin Town, where players can get loot, including a cool timed loot crate hidden inside a Penguin Statue.
• Fish Rocket Launcher: This is one of the new themed weapons that you can use to deal damage to enemies.
• Ice Gadgets: These new winter-themed gadgets will perform various tasks, from causing enemies to slip on the ice to launching characters to a different location.
• Blue Fin Tuna Syringe: This new edible will help increase the HP of the character and also allow it to run as fast as a bullet.
• Looting Enhancement: This unique feature shall allow your character to continue looting even after being knocked out (in the tomb) by a truck.
• Snow Festival: This is a new festival that will arrive on Erangle after the update.

BGMI 4.1 Update Brings New NPCs

The BGMI 4.1 update will see the addition of some new non-playable characters as well as a new mode. They are:

• New Companion: The new update will add many NPCs across Erangle. Some of them are - Polar Bear, Fox, Ninja, Blacksmith and Penguin.
• Metro Royale Mode: This new survival mode will require you to collect loot and survive zones shielded by AI enemies.
