Supercell Just Scrapped Starr Road for This Wild New Brawler Blast System in Brawl Stars

Summary
Supercell has confirmed that Brawler Blast in Brawl Stars will be coming next season as a new way to unlock new Brawlers. This will permanently replace the Brawl Stars Starr Road that has been in the game for quite a long time now. This article explains how the new Brawl Stars Brawler Blast system works and what the community thinks of it based on the reactions so far.
How Does Brawl Stars Brawler Blast Work?
As explained in the official X post, Brawl Stars Brawler Blast is a new randomized way of unlocking new Brawlers. The Starr Road will be completely removed from the game. Instead, this new system lets you unlock random Brawlers from a specific rarity using Credits. When you decide to use your hard-earned Credits to unlock them, you will be presented with a new screen that shows the number of Brawlers you haven't unlocked yet from a specific rarity. When you tap on the screen, you unlock a random new Brawler of that rarity, ticking it off from the options available on the screen.
When you unlock new Brawlers, there's a high chance that you will directly unlock a maxed-out Brawler if lady luck is on your side. Moreover, you also get a random amount of Gem Fragments from unlocking a new Brawler. These Gem Fragments can then be used to unlock new Gadgets, Star Powers, Gears, and Hypercharges, along with upgrading them. It's still unclear whether this will replace Gold and Power Points as the main way for upgrading Brawlers.
Since the rarity of the new Brawler you get to unlock using Brawler Blast in Brawl Stars will change every time, it will definitely disrupt the progression you have made towards unlocking a new one right now. As such, the developers have recommended that you use up all the Credits you have to unlock the current Brawler you are working towards, or save them for the next update and use this system instead.

The Community Isn't Happy About Brawl Stars Brawler Blast

As expected, the community doesn't seem to be happy about the new Brawl Stars Brawler Blast system. Popular creator Ren said in the official post's comments that the current system (Brawl Stars Starr Road) is fine. It didn't need to be changed to something that completely removes player choice. Replacing a working system with a more RNG-based one isn't the right way to improve the new player experience.
Moreover, other comments showed the community's frustration that developers turn a blind eye towards other systems that need a rework. They include the Mega Pig and Ranked game modes. As such, this new system has already stirred up a lot of controversy before it's even officially introduced at the start of the next season.
