Supercell Teases New Clash Royale Card, Hinting at a Brand-New Troop

Clash Royale players have been eagerly waiting for the launch of a new card for over a year. The last new card to arrive in the game was the Spirit Empress, back in June 2025. Since then, the developers have been recycling new Hero and Evolution variations of existing cards in each season.

With Supercell's recent posts, however, it seems like we might finally get a brand-new card! According to the recent Clash Royale new card teased on the developer's social media handles, we have some of our theories on who the new shadowy silhouette might be.

The Clash Royale New Card Leaked Could Be Wielding a Katana

While Supercell hasn't officially specified who the new card might be, we know for sure that this character will wield a sword. As revealed in the recent Clash Royale TV Royale March 2026 episode, we have seen the icon of a sword, primarily of a katana, on the hand-drawn map.

The Katana seemed rather ambiguous, since no card in the game wields a katana. While there are several that wield traditional Western swords, none wielded a katana resembling the icon.

Clash Royale New Card Teased Sparks The Samurai Speculation

Recently, from the first episode of the Clash Royale Overtime Podcast, the developers confirmed that a new card will soon be released, with Clash Royale's social media getting flooded with new card teasers soon. So far, there have been two teasers.

The first teaser simply stated “Who's Next?” with an image showing the names of Mega Knight and P.E.K.K.A getting crossed off a list. This could imply that the new troop is capable of taking down tank units like these two all by itself.

The second teaser finally gave us a glimpse of the new troop, resembling a Japanese swordsman wielding two katanas and wearing a large Kasa hat. The new card could most likely be the Samurai, and with the character not present in Clash of Clans so far, this makes the Samurai the first of its kind in Clash Royale.

Coming to the new troop's abilities, the Samurai can actually be a Champion card, given that the Kasa hat is also worn by Eastern Zen Buddhist monks. And as it sounds, its possivle that the Samurai might have an ability similar to that of the Monk.

Based on the Clash Royale new Champion teased info, the Samurai could have a Champion ability that fully counters melee attacks instead of reflecting projectiles like the Monk, thereby taking down troops like the Mega Knight and P.E.K.K.A.
