Supercell's Clash Royale Ranked Mode Changes Are Dividing the Community

Summary
Clash Royale Ranked Mode has been a controversial topic in the community. You unlock this mode towards the end of the Trophy Road after grinding to 14,000 trophies.
The Ranked mode requirements feel too high for new players to catch up, considering the trophy requirements increase whenever a new arena is added. Supercell has finally decided to add an update for the Clash Royale ranked mode requirements after going through multiple community feedback.
Clash Royale Ranked Mode Requirements Changes: Everything We Know
Recently. Supercell shared that new changes are being made to the current Clash Royale ranked mode requirements. The Ranked Mode, initially known as Path of Legends, was first introduced back in 2022, requiring 5,000 trophies to play.
Fast forward to 2025; Supercell renamed Path of Legends to Ranked, along with its trophy requirement, which increased to 15,000 trophies, thereby making the game mode accessible to only a minority of the player base. Additionally, if you had failed to maintain the 15,000 trophy mark by the end of the season, you would be barred from playing ranked.
The only way to get in was to never drop 15,000 trophies below in ranked last season, making your qualification automatic, even though you might have dropped below the Clash Royale ranked trophy requirements. Since then, Supercell has been increasing the Trophy Road Requirements by 500 whenever a new arena is introduced, to keep the community's competitive integrity in check.

This caused a lot of community backlash, with popular content creators like Jynxzi voicing their thoughts on this game mode, which led to the Supercell CEO apology. The developers finally adhered to player feedback, bringing some much-needed Clash Royale ranked mode requirements by lowering the requirements to 13,000 trophies, which they will slowly increase over time to 14,000 trophies in the following months.
How Will These Ranked Mode Changes Affect New Players and Veterans?
The trophy requirement will be bumped up to 13,500 in September and October and again to 14,000 in November. Supercell plans to monitor the game mode and will make further adjustments to the trophy requirements to play Ranked Mode in Clash Royale.
While many players have stated their satisfaction with these new changes, most still seem divided about the new changes made to the Clash Royale ranked mode requirements. The Trophy requirements are still considered far too high, given that only three to four percent of all players get to play ranked.
If you have 13,000+ trophies, congratulations. You can now finally play Ranked. However, you must continue to keep grinding Trophy Road if you wish to play Ranked in the future, since the Trophy requirements will keep going up. We honestly recommend going through our list of the Clash Royale Meta Decks to see which decks you should use to get to the Champions League in Ranked.
