FIFA Heroes Set for May 2026 Launch as FIFA’s Official World Cup Game

The official FIFA World Cup 2026 video game, called FIFA Heroes, is finally heading towards its launch this summer. The game has already been delayed and was earlier scheduled to arrive in April 2026. The makers have now dropped an official statement on their socials, teasing the FIFA Heroes release date.

FIFA Heroes to Launch Next Month

The official X handle of FIFA Heroes announced that the game will be out in May 2026. While the official FIFA Heroes Launch Date is yet to be made public, the announcement does state that the game may release simultaneously with the FIFA World Cup or just a few weeks ahead of it.

Once released, FIFA Heroes will be a free-to-play game where monetisation will only be activated for cosmetics and passes. It will be released for all platforms, viz. FIFA Heroes To Break the Generic Football Simulation Trend

The team at Solace Games has developed FIFA Heroes as an arcade-style soccer game. It is nothing like the usual football simulation titles, where players generally build a team and try to push in the divisions by playing long matches. In FIFA Rivals, you get fast-paced action, and the match duration is only 90 seconds.

While other football games let you perform skill moves, FIFA Rivals turned them into superpowers. Characters can perform teleport dribbles, flaming power shots and magnetic tackles.

FIFA Heroes has 5v5 matches, where each team has unique heroes equipped with special abilities. These abilities, called 'Superpowers', can freeze opponents, teleport you to the pitch and more.

Another point of distinction of FIFA Heroes from other football games is the setting of the matches. There are no fancy stadiums with fans and tifos; instead, you play in adventurous locations like rooftops and icy tundras.

Players can even pick the official mascots, Thor and Son Wukong, to be part of their team. Some real-life footballers spotted during the soft launch of FIFA Heroes included Diego Maradona, Harry Kane, Jack Grealish, Lautaro Martinez, Emiliano Martinez and more. The player design and animations look playful and semi-cartoonish, built for casual play.
