This 12-Year-Old JRPG Is Finally Getting a Global Steam Launch

Cygames has delivered some of the most beloved video games and anime series of all time. Granblue Fantasy is one such title, and the first version was released almost 12 years ago. Initially, the game was released on Mobage, a Japanese social gaming platform.

Steam Granblue Fantasy is a free-to-play turn-based JRPG released in 2014 for the Japanese market, with an update for English subtitles added later in 2016 for the international player base.

The game features a deep story where you play as the “Captain”, who received a letter from their missing Father, and later set off on an epic journey, where they met different people and experienced various adventures with them. The game also has a gacha system, which you can use to get your desired characters, who will join your roster for raids and different fights that you would need to win to advance in the story.

Gameplay and Raid System in Granblue Fantasy

The gameplay of Granblue Fantasy is mostly turn-based. While you wait for your opponent's turn, you can always check on your loadout to plan for your next turn. The Raid System, which is in real time, allows you to co-op with different players (up to 30) to fight against specific bosses to get rewards like EXP, Chests, trophies, and more.
