3 min
LoL Patch 26.12 Preview

Summary

  • Lead Gameplay Designer Matt has recently revealed a few tweaks for the Champions and Systems in the upcoming 26.12 patch.
  • Champions like Yuumi, Hwei, Nocturne, Cassio, Varus, and one in-game system will receive changes.

League of Legends players must brace themselves, as it's time for them to witness another patch with meaningful tweaks. Following the usual trends, Matt Leung Harrison (Lead Gameplay Designer) of LoL has revealed some interesting changes for fans to cherish. Unlike the Lol 26.11 Patch, the developers aren't focusing on the system adjustment bit. Instead, a plethora of Champions will receive significant tweaks based on their current performance from the last two patches.

The lead gameplay designer has mentioned the upcoming 26.13 patch being all about the Mid-Season Invitational. On the other hand, the LoL patch 26.12 will balance Summoner's Rift. From Yuumi to Xin Zhao, everyone's favourite champions will be affected when the patch goes live. On that note, let's take a look at the LoL Patch 26.12 Preview.

LoL 26.12 Update Explained

As mentioned, the LoL 26.12 Update is more catered towards bringing stability to the Summoner's Rift. Several champions will undergo necessary tweaks based on different parameters: their pick rate and how players have exploited them in ranked matches.

The lead designer, however, has yet to provide us with the League of Legends 26.12 Full Patch Preview. Therefore, we can only depend on the glimpse of the LoL Patch 26.12 Preview:

Champion Buffs

  • Yuumi
  • Jax
  • Gwen
  • Aatrox
  • Hwei
  • Syndra
  • Tristana
  • Sylas

Champion Nerfs

  • Xin Zhao
  • Nocturne
  • Lee Sin
  • Orianna
  • Ryze
  • Cassio
  • Varus

According to Matt Harrison, since Yuumi was disproportionately impacted in this patch, the devs are providing compensation buffs to her.

Lee Sin, on the other hand, will receive significant changes that will affect his power curve.

Lastly, the developers have certainly focused on the mid meta for the next season. AP Xin Zhao will be tapped down a bit in his power budget, and Hwei, Sylas, Syndra, and more will receive buffs so that it impacts their pick rate in ranked.

That's all about the existing champion tweaks in the LoL 26.12 update. In case you're interested in the future update timings, check out our recent coverage of League of Legends New Update Schedules.

League of Legends Patch 26.11 System Changes

While a handful of champions have received necessary tweaks, players might expect the same for the systems, too. The lead designer, however, hasn't mentioned anything significant about the systems. If we look at the League of Legends Patch 26.12 carefully, we'll see that only the Teleport Adjustments system will get an adjustment. We might have to wait till we get our hands on the LoL 26.12 Full Patch Preview.

The developers have addressed the unintuitive behaviour of the player base who exploits the teleport in short ranges. As a result of this, they're nerfing the shield's duration. On the other hand, they're also enhancing the shield's amount as compensation for the nerf.

That's all we have on the upcoming League of Legends Patch 26.12. In case you want to try out your LoL knowledge, check out our recent coverage of Loldle Hints and Answers June 2.
