LoL Patch 26.16 Preview: Nasus Adjustments and New System Changes

With almost a week remaining for the arrival of the new patch, Matt Leung Harrison, the Lead designer, gave us a LoL Patch 26.16 Preview. This time, the developers at Riot Games are planning to make the meta more diversified. For that reason, the devs might catch the community off-guard as they're implementing a plethora of system changes after a long time. These changes, however, will go live on August 12, 2026.

Moreover, they've also tweaked certain in-game items to make the ADC Champions a bit stronger. Belveth, on the other hand, will be nerfed after a massive readjustment in the previous patch. Overall, the community is up for a treat. On that note, let's get a good look at the LoL 26.16 update.

LoL Patch 26.16 Explained: All Champion Tweaks

Matt Leung-Harrison (Lead Game Designer) made no exception as he provided the LoL Patch 26.16 Preview ahead of its release. The official schedule indicates that League of Legends Patch 26.16 will go live on August 12, 2026.

While it's too early to ask for a LoL 26.16 Full Patch Preview from the devs, the current sneak peek cleared a lot of things beforehand. Before we discuss that, let's take a look at the LoL 26.16 update Champion Tweaks:

Champion Buffs

• Kennen
• Gwen
• Azir

Champion Nerfs

• Poppy

• Belveth

Champion Adjustments

• Nasus

It's quite evident from the number of buffed and nerfed Champions that the devs have balanced it from their end. The surprising thing, however, is definitely the Belveth nerf. While the jungle character received an adjustment in the previous patch, the devs decided to nerf him in this one.

Nasus, on the other hand, has undergone severe adjustments.

The team evaluated his current state and decided to buff his abilities for the top lane. Unfortunately, the Champion won't be as powerful in the jungle role in the upcoming patch. The following System changes are mainly catered towards Mage Bot and Roaming Supports. The devs have targeted some of the tier-3 systems like Sorc, Zerkers, and Merc to implement changes.
