Cloak & Dagger Ult is an extremely powerful asset in Marvel Rivals, but many players don’t understand how to capitalise on it. These two characters are not just about doing damage; they are about spacing, protecting teammates, and shifting the momentum of any fight.

Unfortunately, players new to Marvel Rivals or even experienced ones waste this Ultimate by running forward into the enemy and wasting the opportunity given to them. In essence, master the use of their Ultimate by perfecting timing, positioning and knowing when to escape. Here is how you can prevent yourself from falling into the same trap, and start utilising Eternal Bond for its true power, and it will guide you on how to play Cloak and Dagger Marvel Rivals.

What Is Cloak & Dagger’s Ult in Marvel Rivals?

Cloak & Dagger's Ultimate, Eternal Bond, has very powerful applications in the right hands among Cloak and Dagger abilities, Marvel Rivals. When activated, both characters appear together and dash four times quickly, giving a trail in each direction that heals allies and damages enemies. It's not just an offensively focused Ultimate - it's a way to draw lines on the battlefield and control zones, block choke points, or protect your team from incoming health decay.
Eternal Bond is even more dangerous since its Season 1 change, as it allows for four dashes and not just three. Creating trails that heal and damage on either side of a point, or weaving near a narrow path, forces enemies to consider, at the very least, if it's worth pushing in when they might be needing blind chokes, to not get destroyed by instant, powerful heals from your entire team.

Even though it is a great offensive Ultimate, it could also suggest a team's retreat as a routing momentum must be maintained. As well as an attempted push, a team can also de-escalate or completely take a position with this versatile Ultimate.

Why Is Everyone Using the Cloak & Dagger Ult Wrong?

The worst thing that players do with Marvel Rivals Cloak and Dagger's Ultimate can take it's way too aggressive. When the enemy team is in the middle of a push and using their high-damage ultimates to do it, such as in the case of Spider-Man or Scarlet Witch, many players seem to have an impulsive urge to ult forward into the middle of that crowd.

Now they are staring deep into enemy territory, with the enemies being basically impossible to miss, a moving target, and they have also closed off some avenues which may have saved them.

This tactic didn't really help; it just stopped up the frontline and limited spacing, and now your Team is even more limited on the line, much less able to defend. I know this seems obvious and painful, but make no mistake, this is a mistake made a lot because players never think of how ultimates can help create spacing instead of playing too aggressively and poke into danger.

How To Use the Cloak & Dagger Ult Correctly

The best way to utilise Eternal Bond is to ult backwards, rather than forward. Get in proximity to the frontline, take stock of your allies’ positioning, and when you sense the enemy's big push is coming, retreat a bit and ult. By dashing back, you create a healing zone for your allies, while taking away space from enemies. Not only is this saving your team, but you're also negating enemy ultimates by forcing their team to run away or take damage from your trail.

You can also mitigate enemy ultimates using Cloak’s defensive capabilities (Dark Teleportation), while Eternal Bond covers the ground behind you. Your Dagger should have already placed the healing sphere, to have it down before switching to Cloak…so your allies will remain alive while they regroup!

Don’t throw away your Ultimate in minor skirmishes or personal escapes! It is best used in situations where multiple teammates are at risk or to contest space around key objectives. You'll get a feel for this with practice, and ultimately you'll understand the right timing - it's using the Ultimate as a defensive tool to get distance between allies to buy time & heal, rather than putting yourself at risk. This trick is going to enhance your Cloak and Dagger Marvel Rivals gameplay to a whole new level for sure.
