Marvel Rivals Season 7 Update Introduces 3 Ban System: This is How it Works

The Marvel Rivals Season 7 update is going to bring a huge change to how the ban system works in the game right now. The teams will have a chance to ban as many as 6 heroes in total for a ranked match. The next season update of Marvel Rivals will be coming on March 20, 2026, and the new ban system will be enforced from that very day.

New Ban System in Marvel Rivals

As per the latest leaks from the ends of @XOXLeak, the new season of Marvel Rivals will allow the players to ban up to 3 heroes in a ranked match. However, there is a catch to it and that is the time duration of the ban phase will be a lot shorter than before. This means the teams will have to be a lot quicker at their decision-making than now.

The leak was shared on March 17, 2026, at 3:34 UTC. Currently, teams can ban up to 4 heroes in the 2-minute ban phase. The Marvel Rivals Character Ban system will apply only to those players who are at least in the Diamond tier or higher.

The ban system almost works unanimously, where all 5 players get to choose a hero to ban from the other team. If the number of votes is higher for a specific hero, it gets banned, but if the votes are the same for all, then the system selects it randomly.

Does the Duplicate Ban Stay or Leave Marvel Rivals in Season 7?

The Marvel Rivals community has been very vocal about the duplicate ban issue, where both teams choose to ban the same hero. This brings in complications to the team's composition. The current leaks have not suggested anything regarding stopping the duplicate ban issue.

However, with more ban slots, players will have the independence to choose the heroes that help the team's composition and save the important bans for last. This might completely change the current meta, as you will have to come up with more backup strategies should the opponents try to disrupt plan A by banning like 2 or three of your main heroes.
