Overwatch Will Finally Fit Into The Palm Of Your Hand

Blizzard Entertainment has just dropped a bombshell with their recent announcement about Overwatch Rush. After several years of speculation over internet, the developers have finally opened their mouths, and Overwatch Mobile announced. A recent blogpost from Blizzard has embedded an unlisted three-minute early development gameplay preview, which gave us a glimpse of the top-down 4v4 team shooter.

Interestingly, a dedicated team of developers at Blizzard is fully focused on enhancing the core mechanics of this game. As a matter of fact, even though Overwatch Rush will not be a direct port from the original Overwatch, it'll feature the same characters from the game's universe. Blizzard is Finally Developing Overwatch For Mobile, But It's Top-Down

Yeah, I feel your disappointment, too. Weeks after Blizzard Entertainment released Overwatch Season 1, they revealed early gameplay footage of their upcoming mobile game, Overwatch Rush. In a world where popular titles, such as Rainbow Six Mobile and PUBG Mobile, have already received a direct port to mobile devices, Overwatch will arrive as a top-down 4v4 shooter game.

On the bright side, the developers have kept all the characters from our favourite Overwatch universe. According to the official blog post, it's entirely a new kind of game, and the mechanics are quite different. Judging from the pre-alpha footage, if you're familiar with the MOBA mechanics, it has a similar type, but the Heroes feature their original, unique abilities.

Overwatch Mobile Announced: Gameplay and Release Date

We've already mentioned that, as Overwatch Mobile announced, we'll receive a top-down view of MOBA-style gameplay, but with four Heroes. Unfortunately, the hype won't be the same for sure. Regardless, it'll be a whole new experience for the mobile players, who are quite new to the Overwatch Universe. Judging from the early gameplay footage, Heroes like Reinhardt, Mercy, Soldier76, Tracer, Pharah, Reaper, and Lucio have been confirmed.

It's quite evident that the devs will introduce all characters from the primary edition. The gameplay footage also revealed the South Korean Busan map; hence, players can expect the same maps to be included in the Overwatch PC/Console edition.

On the other hand, the overall UI is similar to the main game. Meanwhile, players can also spam different emojis as they do in most mobile games. The mobile-spinoff will be available on iOS and Android Devices.

As of now, the Overwatch Rush release date has not been confirmed. It's still in its early gameplay phase. However, as discussed, developers at Blizzard are planning a soft launch in some selected countries so that everyone can join in for the fun.
